Some of us who used H & R Block wont get direct deposit rebates.

If u used turbo tax, HandR Block, or other service like this and had them take out the tax fees through the tax return, u wont get a direct deposit. U will get a mailed check. IT SUCKS. For instance I had them take it out it was $70, and so since the refund first went to H and R, they took out the fee, then deposited it in my acct. The IRS only saw H and R on the deposit, sort of like a middle man, they now will send a check instead of direct depositing it.
Now I know that even thought the check is supposed to be mailed on June 6th for me i prolly wont get it by July, cause the mail is so slow and my luck they will all be delayed.
Now I have to wait 1.5 months for my GTA4 and 360.
(there is some confusion, supposedly only some, but there are a few people who did get direct deposit and had fees taken out this way. According to yahoo answers. If u got direct deposit already, and had the fee taken out first, respond here.)
Its not that I have to wait, its that I thought itd be in my hands today, and ohhhh yanked away from me. |

Me too. What the fuck is this guy talking about? I bought Turbo Tax online and down loaded it right to my computer. Cost me like $40.00. As it turned out, I owed a couple hundred in state and got a couple hundred back from Fed...I just received my Tax stimulous rebate directly to my checking account. |

Wrong. Just plain wrong. Got my direct deposit with fees taken out already in the bank. |

Ok, just got off the phone with the IRS. He is right.
They said if you had the "fee" taken out of your tax rebate, the Stimulus check will be mailed to you. If you payed the "fee" with debit/credit/check number, it will be direct deposited.
"Fees" include, payment to HR Block/other tax preparation companies/Turbo Tax processing fee etc etc.
By the way, the woman I talked to sounded lovely. :rolleyes: |

Exactly its hard to ask the irs cust service cause its hard to explain.
I saw this on Yahoo answers page, but since there are like 100 posts like it there I thought I should double check.
Knowing the usps, and the irs, i bet we dont see a check till nearly a month after the may/june mailings. |

But did you pay their fee, for their service, out of the return you would get or did you pay upfront.
Its only (supposedly) if u had the fee taken out of your refund that this screws up. Not the actual act of using these services. |

Dude, I used H&R Block too. I am in the same situation. But they sent an email to all of their customers explaining this already! You chose their "simple pay" which means you did not want to wait for direct deposit from the IRS, you instead chose to get immediate funds from H&R. Here is what their email says:
"There has been some confusion for TaxCut users who chose the Simple Pay option to pay their tax preparation fees and if they will now receive their tax rebates as Direct Deposits or as mailed checks?
Let's see if we can alleviate this confusion. Simple Pay customers will receive their tax rebates as mailed checks. "
I don't see how they could have explained it any simpler. |
