Cops: Sox fan hit, killed over Yankees rivalry

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 -
A raging Yankees fan accused of running down a Red Sox fanatic by plowing her car into him after he chanted “Yankees suck” only meant to “scare” him, the accused killer allegedly told police.
Ivonne Hernandez, 43, gunned her car at Matthew Beaudoin, 29, and his friends after an argument spilled out of Slade’s Food & Spirits in Nashua, N.H., early Friday, witnesses and police said.
“She hit him so hard that his head went through the windshield and there was an imprint of his legs in the hood of the car. He didn’t stand a chance,” the victim’s sister, Faith Beaudoin, 27, told the Herald yesterday.
Witnesses said there was a physical confrontation between women outside the bar and Hernandez then got in her car and began driving away when Matthew Beaudoin and his friends spotted a Yankees sticker on her car and began chants of “Yankees suck,” said Beaudoin’s sister and other witnesses.
Hernandez then turned her car around and sped at the group, hitting Beaudoin and injuring a female friend who was standing behind him, authorities said.
Hernandez, of Nashua, was arraigned at Nashua District Court yesterday charged with second-degree murder, aggravated drunken driving and reckless conduct. She was ordered held without bail.
“She never braked, and she accelerated at a high speed for about 200 feet. She went directly at this group of people,” prosecutor Susan Morrell said during the arraignment.
“She indicated to police that she wanted to scare this group of people. She thought they would get out of the way,” Morrell added.
Hernandez was arrested at the scene, and authorities say she acknowledged she had been drinking but refused to take a Breathalyzer test. She admitted arguing with the group, said Morrell.
Faith said her brother, who lived in Nashua, graduated from Nashua High School in 1997 and managed a poker room in Manchester. He was also a big Red Sox and Patriots [team stats] fan, she added.
“I’m angry, hurt, sad and heartbroken. (He was) ... the most kind-hearted, wonderful person you could ever meet,” she said. “I hope she rots in a cold, cold prison cell for the rest of her life and that she sees my brother’s face coming through the windshield.”
Beaudoin died soon after being hit at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

1. Do not ever argue with the staff. Do not bitch about the 30/30/30 Rule. Do not debate the SFN policies and whether or not you technically broke the rules. Do not dispute the Staff's decisions. Do not debate whether some should be a VIP or not. We do not want to explain why every single administrative move was made. Just accept it was for the good of the site. If your post was deleted it's for a very good reason so don't post it again. Don't make a new thread bitching about how it was deleted or about how the mod is on a power trip.
Here is information about the 30 day probationary period that all new members must go through. Once you make it through your 30 days, the posting restrictions will be lifted and you'll have access to the member only forums.
2. Do not harass the VIPs. They have custom titles under their usernames identifying them. Using the excuse that you don't consider that person a VIP doesn't hold any merit. If you know their name because of the show, they're a VIP. You can discuss them and play with them but don't fuck with them. You do not have to like them or agree with them but you can't be mean. If you make them uncomfortable, you'll be the one who's booted. IF they attack you, you are allowed to defend yourself but that doesn't mean you can be a total asshole. Use some sort of restraint even if they are out of control.
This includes but is not limited to the following

* Stern Show Regulars / Comedians
* Stern Show Regular Callers - the guys on the show know by name
* Stern Show Wackpackers
* Stern Show Interns
* Sirius Staff

NOTE: Don't trash BethO. We all know you are just doing it to try and get Howard's attention. It's not fun or funny. You aren't clever. You're just an asshole.
NOTE: VIPs are allowed to fight with one another. These rules are for you and not for them. Just becasue they might trash one another, does not mean that you are allowed to disregard the rules and jump. No matter what, you are required to follow these guidelines.
3. Leave the real world out of it. don't dig into their private lives or their families. I don't care if you read an article about so & so's daughter, just drop it. You can all fight online. Hell, sometimes I think that's why Al Gore invented the internet. What you can't do is bring your online board war home. This is all for fun. Don't start calling them at home or at work. People shouldn't be afraid to come here because you might cost them their job.
4. Do not bitch about Howard, Bubba, or Ferrall commercials, vacation, or Fridays off, etc. Stop your bullshit idol threats about not subscribing unless they change. I've posted details concerning all of the current angry messages we see about Howard's salary, vacation, days off, commercials etc. Before you spout off about the $12.95 you spend a month and what Howard should do to make you happy, Please read the facts concerning the Live Stern Show Math here..
5. We don't care about who you think sucks. I'm tired of thread after thread of "so & so sucks, get him off the show". If you have real comments about something that happened on the show thats fine but so many of you just seem to be loving the hate. You are not allowed to harass the VIPs or the Staff so get your angry ass out of here. If you must vent, post it in the post it in the "Who Gives a Shit" forum.
6. Don't bother telling us your bullshit about how your shock jock is better than Howard. Go tell it to your retard friends because we aren't buying it. We don't care to debate it. We were at the rally on Dec 16th and the numbers don't lie. It's a dead issue. Accept it now, your guy sucks ass. It's not that we can't take your "evidence", it's just who the hell cares about you & your shock jock. Again, if you must vent, post it in the "Who gives a Shit" forum.
7. "Howard Read this!!!" I know we are all excited and sure it would be great for someone from the show to read your message, but try to refrain from making the site all about trying to get their attention. It's one of the things that made Howard's official board hard to read. If you want someone's attention, be a funny creative poster and start contributing. The only sure way to get a VIP a message is email them at SternShow@HowardStern.com BTLS@BTLS.com or ferrall@sirius-radio.com.
8. Don't bring some ancient thread back from the dead unless you have a really really good reason. Posting "she's hot" in a 1 year old thread will cause the other members to become angry. Don't do it. Look at the old shit, but don't reply in those old threads.
9. Watch what you post and where you post it. There are several forums here and we have them for a reason. Take it upon yourself to post in the appropriate forum. This is mainly to keep things neat but, adult material and file sharing are two that you MUST post in the appropriate forum. All nudes or other not safe for work material belongs in our Adult Forum. All file sharing posts or requests belong in the File Sharing Forum. Do not post an entire show. We only share clips.
10. Don't scare away the chicks.
11. Don't be a racist jerkoff. It's not funny. The occasional off color joke or photo goes with the spirit of the Stern Show but ever since the Kramer incident, this place has slowly been becoming a clan rally. Ease up on the racism. First of all, when I lived in Japan, Yomiuri was my "home team".
Second, I'm not defending Nuge. He can take care of himself.
And, I dont like any other sports besides baseball. No Canadiens, Celtics, Cowboys, Lakers, NY Giants or anything like that.
Although I would like to get a better understanding of soccer.
Baseball is the only sport I watch or pay attention to.
Anyway, it is really funny how whenever someone doesn't like what I have to say, they use the same 3 tired insults.
#1, "Mult": I have no other accounts on SFN, and I have posted in the "out your mult" threads PLENTY of times. Always come up clean.
#2, "Fag, Homo, Gay etc...." : I am not a gay man, but I have no issue with gays at all. If I was gay I would post it in my profile. This insult means nothing to me, because like "mult" it simply isn't true.
#3, "Bandwagon fan" : Once again an insult that doesn't phase me in the least. I CHOSE to be a Yankees fan as an adult, because I admired a lot of the players, the stadium is 14 miles from my home, and I like what the team stands for. I wasn't "born into it", and I envy all of you fans who got to witness the latest run of championships. In all honesty I have been fascinated by the Yanks since 2001, and really got behind the franchise in '02-'03. The thing that really made me a true fan was when they got my favorite baseball player Hideki Matsui. I dont understand this whole "bandwagon" thing you guys like to say, but I truly enjoy watching the Yankees win, and I take every game very seriously. I love rooting for the Yanks and I doubt this will ever change. So call me badwagon all you want, it doesn't bother me. It is simply wrong. |

I'm still waiting for an answer to why Josh Beckett is a bad influence on young pitchers and what exaactly is the "Philly mentality" that Chase Utley has that would prevent him from being on Haney's expansion team. He would rather have B.J. Upton, who now plays Centerfield. Don't hold your breath. |

You want respect? STFU and worry about your own team. Why do you hate the Red Sox so much? If you dont answer anything else just answer that for me. Is it because they won in the 2004 ALCS? Thats all you have seen in your short time as a Yankee fan, but you still talk shit about the team and fans. Have you ever even been to a Yankee/Sox game or do you watch this rivalry unfold on ESPN?
