Seems topical........thoughts?

I love bikes, have been riding them of some type since I was able to walk. Took one serious spill at 14, concussion, road rash, all that fun stuff. I shouldn't have been on a bike at that age, goes without saying.

I bought a newer dark match softtail a few years ago, and rode it to work a few weeks. Soccer moms pulling out in front of me, people riding 5 feet off my back tire, just roadkill waiting to happen. Most of the times it isn't the riders it is the problem, it is the other 90% of assholes on the road that go out of their way to kill you.

Secondly, I heard some time ago Spice mention he wanted to get a 600cc sport bike. These things are NOT toys, and not beginner bikes. The newer 600's are turning 10-11 second quarter mile times. Not trying to dog on spice's friends, but the sport bike "stunt riders" stereotypically are as bad, if not worse than the brand new haircut Heineken guido douchebags. The bullshit they (again, stereotypically) pull on the road is a danger to them, and everyone else around them. I personally would agree if bubba decided to use the contract endorsement veto in this if it is what it takes to keep him safe.

Again, I love bikes, and have no problem with responsible riders. But buying a 10 second sport bike and hanging out with a bunch of stunt riding guidos with no experience is a disaster waiting to happen. I would be willing to wager if Spice were getting a cruiser style bike to ride with Bubba or other responsible riders, the outlook would change drastically. Rightfully so.

It's none of my business all together, but I agree with Bubba on this. Spizz is one of my faves on the show, and I'd hate to see him get hurt.

at least he bought a harley and not a rice rocket. he and lasker will be tearing it up in no time.

Im into choppers. I cant afford one right now so im gettin a cbr 600. I just dont like the looks of harleys. When i see someone on one it reminds me of the old easy rider magazines.

Bubba should make Spice buy a $1M life insurance policy with Bubba as the beneficiary

No matter how much training and common sense Spice thinks he has or will have, it won't help when someone cuts him off or pulls out in front of him. I've been riding for 10 years and have had at least 20 real close calls. A few of them were almost enough to stop me from riding.

Any rider knows, its not "if" you get in an accident...its "when". Lets all hope he at least wears his helmet.

My mom won't let me get a Motorcycle, like lots of others.

My older brother was in a pretty bad motorcycle wreck as a passenger. It's nothing new. But I love speed and freedom, the idea of a bike fits into that well.

I think Spice should go for it, and it something happens it happens. He should just learn his limits and skill level.

At least he is going about it the right way and taking the courses.

I ride, but I was in Tampa/Clear water last week and would be scared to death to ride there. The drivers really suck, maybe it's the number of old people, but just driving there is dangerous. Maybe that's what Bubba is thinking. Also a sportbike is not really a starter bike.

All this motorcycle safety talk reminds me of this commercial.....

Bubbas racing concerns me more than spices crotch rocket

BTW I would pay to see pics of bubba 388 getting in or out of his late model or the best would be on his go kart

Are you being serious?

Bubba is on the track with racecar drivers strapped into his car with the top-of-the-line safety equipment.

Spice will be sitting on the back of basically a street legal race bike with nothing but a helmet to save his life.

I'm just concerned because I have lost 4 friends to motorcycle accidents and in every case, it was the other driver that caused it.

Yeah racing is much safer and happens in a controlled environment. Whose to say Spice always has a helmet on and so on..

I gotta agree with you 98% slide, but to say a kid that can pull a wheelie at100 mph & ride it for 1-2 miles is definately NOT an "unskilled' rider! In fact, most stunt riding takes skills much more developed than the average 45 yr old re-entry hog rider!! BTW If you ride about 5-10 MPH faster than the majority of traffic, with your high beam on AND WEAR A HELMET & othersafety gear, you only improve your odds of survival. The average fog breathing,cell-dialing,coffee-sipping, book-reading,makeup-applying,shaving,farting,masturbating will notice a vehicle more readily if it is moving FASTER than they are.

Oh I agree, it takes skill to do those sort of things, I didn't mean he was unskilled.....I meant that spice was inexperienced, and the bike he is buying is deathly fast.

someone called in and suggested he try a dual sport first. I don't think that's a bad idea, they are easier to ride and learn the balance and handling characteristics of a motorcyle. they are also lightweight compared to a cruiser or rocket, and will be easier to handle for his course and ultimately his road test (if there is a different class of license for cycles in FL).

I have ridden them all in the last 25 years, dressers, cruisers, and crotch rockets. I have gone back to the dual sport for my choice of 2 wheel ride, mostly for the fun factor. I think Spice would benefit from getting his feet wet on something that won't cost him a couple hundred bucks a pop when it falls over.

i used to ride my yzf600 daily when i lived in central ohio. I think my bike has left the garage a total of 5 times in the 2 years ive lived here in vegas. the fucks here drive like maniacs

CanAm Spyder trike. Photo snapped in Warsaw, IN. Looks like it would appeal to Spice.

Spice had already mentioned the CanAm Spyder...that thing is badass. It looks like a snowmobile on wheels...

i agree with ya slidejob. most people have no concept of the power those bikes have. i had a gsxr 600 and when i got it i had no idea of the power that little engine can produce. thank god when it got totaled is wasnt me riding it. the other poster is also correct it is not a matter of if you have an accident its when.
