I thought it would make me feel better about myself...didn't work.

This guy could be raking in millions a year as a real estate mogul for all I know...I just didn't like that he said NYers were greasy low lifes with low IQs.

My friend is a janitor and fucking hates his life. But anytime you work for the govt man, it is not a bad gig. I try to tell him that! He makes crazy overtime, gets full benefits and works summer hours for 1/4 of the year. Not to mention the pension he is earning for the rest of his life and the benefits until death. Trust me, you can be doing a lot worse things then that!

You will never be rich working for the govt, but you will always be taken care of.

I like the Rays roster a lot more than the Yanks. Not saying they'll finish ahead of them this season, but folks in the AL East need to realize that the Rays are not going to remain the doormat that they've been since their inception. They are a team on the rise. The amount of young pitching that they have not only on their big league club but throughout their minor leagues is impressive, possibly the best in baseball.

The Yanks start off this way every year. They will dominate the last 2 months of the year and finish above the Rays just like they should.

Rays are starting to look good! They are holding on to their young stars and picking up pieces that are helping (Pena, Percival, Bartlett, etc.) Yanks overpay for whatever good player they can get their hands on. Depends on Rays rotation if they can hang with the big boys in Boston and New York for the whole year. I will take the Rays in close race over NY this year but not close to Boston. Look out if they keep their players and add some key free agents!!!

there is one saying in baseball that has been around forever..."the cream always rises to the top" the rays will have a great year...by the rays standards...but it will be yankees and sox going for first....don't forget how banged up the yankees are, and they are still right there....baseball is a long season, and it is won after the allstar break, not before....so we'll wait and see

It's very possible that the Rays could finish above the Yankees. Who the hell is going to pitch for the Yankees this year? They have some serious holes in their starting 5.

I watched the game lastnight and the crowd was embarrassing! I live about 80 miles south of Tampa so I can barely go to games.. but damn they have the biggest buzz going on with them pretty much ever and they cant get that place even 1/4 filled.

They had a charity auction going on all night lastnight and I bought one of the "set offers" which was for $100 you get 4 tickets to the June 21st game vs the Astros and you get 4 free tee shirts and something else.. a nice deal IMO

When I still lived there it was embarrassing to see the crowd that they draw. I would always go to at least 20 games a year. I hope when that new stadium gets built it gets more people to support the team. I can't wait to go down and watch a game outside & on the waterfront.

But can you really blame them? For years that franchise turned out a shit product with no sense of direction or plan for success. Previous ownership rubbed the community the wrong way. If they stay competitive attendance will increase.

The rays are yet to put together a whole season. They have gone on runs before and still always end up in the same place in the end. Things are looking up, but until a full season is in the books i am hesitant to think anything but .500 as a goal.
