They offered me one month free and then, after I said no, two months. I told her that Stern is all I like on Sirius and he doesn’t really care about doing a good show anymore. The lady told me “Maybe Howard will start caring about doing a good show in those two months!” Yeah, sure.
Hate to say it, but I’m trading Howard in for three packs of Newport 100s a month. I really never thought I would cancel. Oh well. |

| I'm coming up on renewal in a month or so. I haven't made my decision yet. |

Smoking sucks. Why don't you at least gamble those three packs a month at the casino. You have at least a minute chance of making money.
But congrats. We are proud of you, now get ready for the door hitting your ass comments. |

There are days in all of our lives that will stand the test of time and we will all be able to vividly recall where and what we were doing on those days. My wedding day, 9/11(similar to my wedding day in ways...), The Challenger explosion....
Now, thanks to you, this is one of those days. I'll never forget the day you cancelled your account.
Now, please, I need a moment to collect myself. |

The lady did ask if I had a car. I told her I did, but not with Sirius in it. She offered to close my sub to my old radio and get me a brand new one for my car. I told her no. You should try it, I bet you it will work. There is no downside in trying. |

I got a free one, but they sent a dock, so I called and they sent a cheap radio, (perfectly fine) i returned the dock at Circuit City (it was a stilleto dock) so i got a Starmate 4 for almost same price. Plus 3 months of service. I did this cause my starmate 3 bit it but I think i made out well. I got 2 radios and 3months. |

Good to know if my Sportster 4 bites the dust.
At home I have two of these old "Visor" units (one now for backup that used to be in the car.) They suck except for one thing: they have a kickass FM transmitter on them, having been made before the FCC forced them to make those things super weak. I can get the FM signal all over the house. |

you guys are morons.
this show is good. some days are off, but you cant expect every show to be stellar. that said, even if less than half of the shows were good, why cancel your whole subscription. sirius has a sh!t load to offer in terms of other things. all of the sports, sinatra channel, stones channel, etc etc etc etc etc. the options are limitless.
i really just dont understand you people who threaten to cancel your subscription. the only injustice you do is to yourself if you take that approach.
i love howard to death, but there is a hell of a lot more to sirius than howard, bubba and the rest. get a clue already. and honestly, stop using your subscription as a leveraging point. for every retard that cancels because they are mad at howard, im sure 3 more join up for howard the the 100+ other channels of music and programming.
i just dont understand you freaks at all. |

Well I find myself listening less and less. Not because i dont like the show, but I just dont seem to put the effort into turning it on. When I do, i enjoy it, but not as much as I used to. All in all, i'm leaning towards this being my final year of sirius (2 subs). I'd keep it if the music stations were more to my liking but they just sound like testicle radio to me with less commercials, the dj's suck and the music isnt so great (not great enough for the cost imo).
In the end i'll probably do what i do most of the time allready, just listen to my cd's. |

I’m a moron because I’d rather spend my money elsewhere? I don’t except every show to be stellar. I except Howard to at least care about doing a good show. I don’t think he does anymore. I don’t find the show entertaining anymore. I can pick one or two shows a month that are great, but that’s not worth my money. If I had a great bank account I guess I wouldn’t care where I tossed my money. However, money is a factor.
I’m not threatening to cancel. I already canceled. I’m glad that you love everything else on Sirius, but we’re not the same people. I don’t enjoy the same things you do. I would rather use my ipod in my car then listen to any music channel on Sirius. The Stones and Sinatra isn’t my thing either. I don’t need Sirius for Sports and I can live without Bubba and Ferrell.
I am sure there are bunches of people who are going to subscribe, but you are missing something. I don’t have this fantasy about canceling and everyone at Sirius rushes to see how they can get me back. It’s about me saving money. That’s all. I don’t see a use for Sirius anymore. I don’t find paying for Howard worth it anymore. If you do, good for you. Hope you enjoy it. I don’t. |

It always seems that when people start these threads they are doing so asking for attention or hoping that Sirius is going to change their entire programming at the drop of a dime to accommodate the person canceling. I can't tell if this is the case, but Big Hairy, seriously something is wrong if you are trading Sirius for a few packs of smokes.
I can tell a lot of people that want or have thought to cancel are often those that never fully got enough out of Sirius because they never had it setup right, or got the most out of it that could. Just keep in mind a few things. You can pretty much always prevent dropouts in service at Home so long as you can put up an antenna outside, you can not only get rid of static and the crappy fm transmitter and have SIRIUS sound like CDs. There are plenty of ways to fix things, which generally addresses the issues. It just worries me when people want to cancel and deal with everything but the issues they can solve. People have a lot of power to make their listening experience better, but instead of helping themselves they might insist on getting Sirius to change or give them a free radio to help the problem. If people need some advice on making their experience better they can PM me too. I might be able to help. |

| If I canceled my Cable for one month it would be the equivalent of canceling my Sirius for one year financially. Also since I drive and gas is now up to about $4.30 here for base, and my car takes premium $4.55, then for the price of keeping Sirius I can drive about 40-60 more miles on 3 gallons of gas. Yes my car gets bad MPG. |

| We just Cancelled Howard TV and my new car came with a free Sirius subscription. I doubt I will renew it runs out unless they cut the price to about 5 bucks a month. I'm just not in my car long enough each day to make it pay. I get Sirius for free at work so by the end of the day I'm Howarded and Bubbaed out. Most of the time I listen to local stuff on the way home. |

You have to realize that the show management and staff read these boards all the time to get fan ideas and reactions. This guy is only voicing his frustration in only place that it won’t get lost in the piles of e-mails, messages or with some customer rep agent somewhere in the far-east.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may Howard Strern hold you in the palm of His hand |

I see this (cancel) happing more and more. Howard's fans joined for Howard and nothing else.
Now there is a group of Howard fans that joined and really like Sirius music channels and the sports available. Myself included in this club. I joined because Howard. But that was a full year before his debut. I grew to love the sports channels and I enjoy many of the music channels (withou comercials).
But the Howard fan that joined for the promise of great Howard radio are now seeing it's all bullshit. 4 day weeks, begging to leave before 10am.
Then add the fact that some Howard fans can't stand Bubba (which is sad, the guy is great) and you can see the cancelelation growing.
Howard has let down many who joined for him alone. While other see the total value in Sirius. |

Howard has let down many who joined for him alone. While other see the total value in Sirius. |

I have tried and tried with this guy. I'll still tune in from time to time, but invariably there will be something on the show so stupid that I just have to turn it off. |

Hate to say it, but I’m trading Howard in for three packs of Newport 100s a month. I really never thought I would cancel. Oh well. |

| personally, i love sirius and i mainly only listen to Howard. when he was on regular radio it was always on a sucky station that would barely come in - so i love the nice clear sound i get now. i will stay with sirius until howard leaves - then i'm probably going to cancel |

Im fixing to cancel one radio myself..simply because its an old piece of shit that the reception is too much of a bitch to get inside the house.
As much as I feel Howard is just mailing it in and gonna cruise the last half of his contract, its still better than 99.999999% of the shit out there. |

I cancelled about a month ago because I thought the show was stale and my Stiletto kept breaking. I made it about 2 days before I knew I fucked up. TSS Taylor hooked me up w/ a new radio and Sirius gave me my account back at the same price with no problem.
The show isn't what it used to be but it still gets me thru the day. |

Yes my car gets bad MPG. |
so, what is your point? The guy gets sirius for howard, and doesn't feel that the show is worth keeping sirius anymore. End of fucking story. It is his choice. The end. WGAS how many more examples you can come up with of what you can buy with a your sirius money? I understand what you are saying and all, but I think you are missing his point. If you disagree, that if cool, but who cares? You are being no different that most of these other guys, and quite frankly, you are typically way above that. He gets it. I actually agree with him, but money isn't a problem for me, so I will most likely let howard run out his contract, even though I went to cancel and they gave me 2 free months. I went to cancel after the Artie fight wasn't replayed and I missed it and had to hear it on free sites on the internet, when I have 2 accounts. That pissed me off. I have 2 accounts, yet had to find it on FREE sites. I am still not sure what I will do, but will most likely keep it out of loyalty and nothing else, since I think the service sucks. I don't listen to any show but Howard, and think the music channels suck. My ipod is way better, but that is because I can actually affored music and have a huge library of music at my fingertips. |

My point is this guy said he canceled, but I'm curious if he tried listening to other shows, or even changed the channels, or ever tried logging in online, tried listening in the car. But it sounds like he got Sirius for Stern listened got bored and canceled. It sounds like someone who got a computer to go on SFN and then SFN got boring and they aren't going to use their computer anymore. |

Even if Howard was no longer on it, I'd keep Sirius. I really like the music channels (Underground Garage 25!). Last week I had to rent a car for two days with terrestrial radio in it and I couldn't believe how much I ended up despising it.
For the thirteen or so bucks a month it's still worth it. My reception is fine - so I don't know what you guys are talking about. |

I only got Sirius for Howard so I'm done subscribing after 2010... the music channels are good but I'd rather just listen to cd's or mp3's
I'd never cancel before Howard's done though... regardless of whether you think Howard's coasting or too old now or whatever, there are still brilliant moments happening often enough that I don't want to miss |

| I was considering cancelling, then some "person" busted the window of my car and stole my GPS and my SIRIUS radio. Here, I thought the asshole made the decision for me. So I called up SIRIUS to cancel my sub. I told them my story and the customer service guy offered to send me a new sportster 3 along with an FM modulator and a coupon for a free installation. After they were that cool to me, I figure that I'll wait out Stern's contract even if I'm not 100% happy with the product. |

BREAKING NEWS: Howard has stopped construction of his Hamptons mansion until Big Hairy Ball resumes his Sirius subscription.
Seriously though, you'll be back. I canceled mine in November when there was more vacation than show. When they called me 2 weeks later with a couple months free offer, I was right back. If the show isn't that good, just flip something else on for a while. Even though Howard basically phones it in, and it's obvious he can't wait to get out of there every day, it is still by FAR the best thing on radio.
This thread seems to be working out for you as well as your Hennesy Slim mult did. |
