| I love the stern show but lets put this in perspective. We the fans (one million, lets say) pay approx. 150 million bucks a year for Howard to tell us we are fuckheads. His contract is for 100 million a year so along with those annoying advertisements the show is more than profiting from the subscribers. Where else do you find an entertainer that directly gets paid by his fans? And the fans are dedicated to this guy. Before satellite his salary was dependant on ad revenue so he could care less what the fans thought but now it is a completely different arrangement. |

I don't care how much he makes, but I do feel he shortchanged subscribers by not being on Friday.
The "annoying advertisements" aren't as annoying as the advertising on FM the last few years. There were times I missed the show because of all the ads they had to run.
As far as calling fans "fuckheads", you don't think some of them can't get under his skin? He tried the message board and was thin-skinned about it, so he had to shut it down, and he's had a longstanding love-hate relationship with SFN.
The show has changed with time, and some people don't think it's for the better, others do.
When it comes to music, he's already said he was a terrible DJ. I think he's mostly stuck in 73 as far as what he likes to listen to for enjoyment, with the exception of the bands that have come on the show.
But when I hear the old clips, there's just some stuff on there that he might have thought was funny then, but wouldn't now. Mid 50s is a weird time for him to be doing some of the humor he does, so he has to leave it to others.
I think he can keep the show going for another 10 years, but once he gets "old man" on us I don't see him playing a big part in the show. |

Don't you think in general this is the feeling Howard has towards his dedicated fans? Any callers other than the usual suspects get kicked off as soon as possible. I know some callers are not professional but these are his real fans, not just some rehearsed, celebrity seeking wanabees. Don't get me wrong by the fuck you statement, I just feel that his entire fan base now pulls directly out of their pockets $13 bucks a month, $150 a year to listen to the Stern show and the feeling I get is Howard is annoyed by the fans. |

I cannot FUCKING believe that Artie just resigned. This is fucking ridiculous. If Artie doesn't come back I'm thinking of canceling. And if they replace him with Colin Quinn I will re-subscribe, but if they put Jon Hein in I will cancel, but if they put Greg Fitswimmins in I'm going to cancel cuz I don't like Bald Irish people. :mad:

That was a YEAR ago. THEY STILL HAVEN'T PAID ME!
Is this the sign of a reputable business man??? Or a shameless immoral scumbag? I'm just a poor artist trying to create my work and live my life as best as I can. A lot of time, money, and sweat went into creating the pieces that were taken. This BUM knows he hasn't done right by me!
