A few points:
1. The Marlins actually have a lot of fans. Their local TV ratings are excellent, but it's true that often only about 1000 show up to a weekday game.
2. They have good young talent, but most of it is too young.
3. The ownership group and front office is just about the biggest bunch of greedy assholes around, but they are pretty smart.
4. The AL is going to wreck the Marlins (and most of the NL) in interleague, so the "best record in baseball" days are numbered. I can't see them winning the division, but they could hang around awhile. |
