I went to a game on Sunday at The Tokyo Dome between the Yamiuri Giants and the Chunchi Dragons.
The fans are different there. They have a band that plays when their team is at bat. One side roots for one team and the other roots for the other. There are cheerleaders too.
The Tokyo Dome has an amusement park near the stadium. Here are a few pictures of the Tokyo Dome and amusement park.

The Dragons fans in blue on one side. All the vendors are girls and look pretty good. Also, a picture during the game.

The Giants fans with their orange towels when they score a run. There are cheerleaders between innings.

Great pics!
I lived quite a few years over in Japan while in the military. I eventually became a fan of the Yomiuri Giants while I was there.
I remember back in the 80's their best gaijin (foreigner) player was Warren Cromartie, he was a fan fave too. I saw alot of games, and concerts, at the Big Egg, great venue. |

Since the Giants were the home team I rooted for them. They are the most popular team in Japan.
The Japanese Baseball League has and had a lot of former MLB players. The quality of the game is real good.
I live in Korea and they like baseball there too, but the quality is not as good as Japan. |

Thanks for the kind words. You can't imagine how insane people are for baseball in Japan.
The number 1 primetime show in Japan is baseball.
The number 2 primetime show in Japan is baseball.
The number 3 primetime show in Japan is baseball. You get the idea.
Every Major League Baseball game that has a Japanese player in the game is shown live in Japan. Keep in mind that Japan is 13 hours ahead of New York. Therefore a local US game at 1pm EST is shown live at 2am in Japan. |

| Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing. I know I'll never see a baseball game in Japan, so seeing these is pretty surreal. Who are their favorite MLB teams over there? I'm going to assume the Yankees and Red Sox because of Matsui, Dice-K, and Okijima, but what about the Mariners because of Ichiro? |

Thanks a lot! I saw lots of Red Sox, Yankee, and Mariner caps. When I was in Tokyo aboaut 5 years ago it seemed like mostly people wore Yankee and M's caps because of Matsui and Ichiro. Now there are a bunch of guys in MLB like Dice-K.
I think Japanese baseball fans are like Koreans. They root for the team that has their favorite Japanese players on it.
Being in Korea for several years I have seen many people root for Chan Ho Park, but the caps change all the time because he has been on so many teams.
Several people came up to me and ask me who I like in MLB and told them; they love MLB so much.
I know the World Baseball Classic was not big in The States, but several countries including Japan and Korea loved it so much. |

Thanks so much! The Yomiuri Giants are the oldest and most successful baseball franchise in Japan. They have won 9 championships. They are well liked or well hated as are the Yankees.
BTW in Korea and Japan baseball most teams are named after a corporate sponsor and not by the name of the city.
There is one other team from Tokyo too, which is the Yakult Swallows. (Yes Swallows) lol Kind of reminds of some Japanese chicks that I have met in the past. lol |

Seriously Mike, when did I ever do shit to you?
Having fun over in the "Yankees" thread? I actually consider you and Destro among the only good posters left.
Have you realized nobody good posts there anymore?
But since I DO frequent all the threads, Damon has been using maple bats because batters think they are harder.
They actually break WAAAY more often than the ash/composite.
They also are NOT harder.
Posada is trying to get the entire team to switch to Ash because it is better and breaks less, but a lot of guys are convinced maple bats give an advantage.
Seriously, you are actually cool. Dont act like Lisa and Dave lurking all over tlking shit about me. I lwft the Yanks thread because they have made it boring.
Later dude. |

A great question!!! If you like chicks that are mostly slim and not fat then you will like it very much. Korean women are more consevative, but sure no how to express themselves in bed. lol
If you are asking me to choose between Korean or Japanese chicks I would say they are pretty even. However, I would give a tiny edge to Korean because they don't have tattoos. You can't go wrong with either. |

I loved the Giants when I was stationed in Yokosuka.
Matsui was awesome back then.
Now I watch him on the Yanks... Can you believe the year he is having so far? |

One thing that I learned from traveling to several countries is that if you act respectful and kind to the local people there is no way they can hate you. A matter of fact people in other countries have treated me great. Japanese people are some of the most respectful people you will ever meet.
Haney: Matsui is a big deal in Japan. He is a very good player. That is great that you got to experience life in Japan. I can't say enough about the people in Japan. |

I spent four years in the military stationed over there.
I loved it.
But my Japanese it TERRIBLE! lol
Anyway, have you been to any Nippon ham FIGHTERS games?
I would love to see Yu Darvish pitch in person.
I am trying to get back to Japan after law school.
Hopefully in an MLB capacity, even if just to visit. |

This is kind of funny. I went to a Korean baseball game about a month ago. Some idiot foreigner ran on to the field. Another foreigner did that a few days later. Koreans started running on to the field recently, so the newspapers are blaming the stupid foreigners for influencing them to run on the field.
You have to be stupid to run on the field in your own country. You have to be even more dumber to run on the field in a foreign country where you don't speak their language.
I understand what you said, but it is all about respect when you go to a country. The way they cheer at baseball games in other countries is kind of the way you should. I know people don't want to, but that is the way it is.
Haney: I was only in Tokyo for 4 days, so only saw the Giants. If you go to Japan the best advice is to bring a lot of money, but I am sure you knew that. |

You bad man! lol jk Gooks is a bad word for Koreans and people from Vietnam, Anyway, I don't like when people use those words, but whatever.
As for getting by in English in Japan, no problem! There are lots of signs in English. Also, many people speak English there and if they don't they will find someone to help you. You will not meet much nicer people than the Japanese. |

It's all good. People have a right to voice thier opinion. A lot of times when I hear racial slurs it usually comes from people that have not traveled much or interacted with different types of people. I am not saying that is you. I have met many great people all over the world no matter where they are from.
I will eventually add some pictures of some Korean baseball and cheerleaders(that you won't want to miss). |

Actually, I've traveled outside the US quite a bit and am definitely not a racist. The slur was said only in an attempt to make a very low-brow and ignorant, yet humorous, post. |

Fillipino chicks are totally hot. The only problem I have with them is a lot of them have kids. I can't lie about that I have been to that country 3 times.
Hugo: No problem with your joke. I am not worried about you because you traveled, but there are people out there that might believe what you wrote and not see humor in it.
Woo: Those chicks were carrying mini-kegs. They do it at Korean baseball games too.
Elsalvo: The Tokyo Dome was build around 1988, so it is not the most modern stadium you will see. In addition, it is a dome. I will say that most seats were good ones, which you can't say about some of these 55,000 plus stadiums in North America.
Here are cheerleaders at a Korean baseball game, a mini-keg guy at a Korean baseball game, and a hot Fillipino chick that I had fun with in her country.

I did not see a miniature golf course in The Philippines. lol I did nail her and she was quite wild. I knew once I got a picture of her with a hot dog she was mine, but she probably had many. Ironically, she does not have a kid, which is not typical for chicks in The Philippines.
I did lose her e-mail. Oh well, I still have her picture and memories of her! |

As for the baseball I really appreciate the game a lot when I see it played in different countries. The Japanese players are better, but I enjoy the Korean games more as far as the atomosphere. Plus the cheerleaders practically in your lap!! |
