I laugh every time I come to the politics board, you see the same stupid fucks spewing the latest failed, contrived and pathetic right wing talking points every time, all based on their theme of smears, fear mongering and distraction. They are such perfect examples of why the GOP is completely falling apart and why they are losing seats deep in the heart of the red states. Just look at the ass kicking the wingers are getting everywhere, the GOP will be on the back burner for the next 20 years at this rate, and they will whine like cunts the entire time. Its going to be great watching Barack talk about these swift boat tactics throughout the election, they will have their lies shoved right back in their faces every time they open their mouths. Just like Barack did today to Bush, the grandson of the ultimate Nazi appeaser. Continue on, winger fucktards! I am laughing at you dumb pricks.

Try to imagine things from their side.
This Republican Administration has nearly destroyed American integrity globally and, domestically, has set Conservative Politics back decades.
The right-wingers here are made up of two basic groups: life-long conservatives and young kids who are sucked into right-wing thinking by talking heads like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, etc.
Now, all that they have been conditioned to believe as good is crumbling around them daily. They have to keep up the talking points or they look like complete dupes.
It's not their fault, though. Bush has duped us all and made fools of the whole Nation. McCain, a total nutcase, has risen to power because of his anti-Bush rhetoric 8 years ago.
Obama has hit the scene looking like the greatest thing to come along by being totally opposite of all things Bush.
Until a "new Reagan" comes along, conservative politics is nearly irrelevant.
And, truthfully, that's not a good thing for the way America operates. The party in power needs a loyal opposition.
Although I will continue to support Barack Obama and will, in fact, cheer and celebrate his inauguration, I hope that the Republican Party regroups and begins to again embrace true Conservatism instead of the right-wing radical ideals that Bush Co. has shoved up our collective asses.
:ps: OBAMA! :ps:

Fuck the "Republican Party".

The GOP has been the party of Big Business and the Robber Barons for well over a century now.

They've had maybe two "good" presidents in that time, Teddy Roosevelt and Ike, but that was only because of the strength of their individual characters and in the ways they were NOT like their party.

Hoover was the last pinnacle of Republican rule, and a lot of damage control was needed. Guys like FDR, Ike, and JFK put us back on the path to an Enlightened Society. A "middle class" was created.

Guys like Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr., spent all their efforts in tearing down what made us America.

Under Bush Jr., the work has basically been done. We are basically back to the robber baron days, and America is fucked.

Damage control is in great need. ("Change" if you prefer!)

I hope the GOP dies a painful death. American policy and society does not need any thought/system to the right of Alexander Hamilton.

The only legitimate argument is between social and classical liberals, ala Jefferson vs Madison/Hamilton. And even then, the argument is over. But at least it is intellectually reasonable.

Exactly.

It's the same as if Bush was addressing a group of economists and said - "Some people actually believe that economic growth derives from oppressive taxation."

Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of them would be churning out the "how dare you talk about us that way" press releases.

As far as Obama goes, he only has himself to blame. He should expect some criticism when his grand foreign policy proposal consists of sitting down for talks with our enemies and bombing our allies.

Er, and why should anyone prove anything to you?

Everytime proof is offered, you point to something else and scream foul, you can't even be honest and say someone proved you wrong. You just keep crying over and over again about other topics as soon as someone shuts you up.

Do everyone a favor and go back to newsbusters.... for once I'd like to see some HONEST discussion about politics and not boring drivel designed to turn my head into mush and crybabies like you with nothing to offer.

It's easy to feel that way considering the horribly hateful and punitive attitude of the modern Republicans.
Although, I'm not quoting your entire post, you mentioned Nixon as being an example of horrible Republican policy. Nixon, you may remember, was very socialist in the way he did things. He was all about government regulation and control. As such, he wasn't a "normal" Republican.
Reagan destroyed the Soviet Union and helped bring down the Berlin Wall. The downside is he threw us into incredible debt by doing it. But, history will judge the worth of his accomplishments.
Dubya has been a disaster of epic proportions. Nobody can deny that.
But, for the Democrats to be strong, the Republicans must also be strong. I'm a registered Libertarian but I can realistically see that, as long as we operate under a "two-party system," the two major parties must be wise in the ways they present their platforms. They must participate in "intelligent debate." That's something that has been missing for many years.
In fact, this is the first year in many that the Democrats have a candidate who can be intelligent and precise in his beliefs and ideals.
The Republicans must now step up and, I assume, in the next decade, they will.
Once the two parties indeed begin dialogue and develop a spirit of compromise, we'll all benefit.

This isn't about whether or not the Dems took his words as an attack. Obviously, he was wrong to bring up domestic political talking points while abroad. He did exactly what all you right-wingers sniveled about the Dixie Chicks doing (when Natalie said "I'm ashamed the President is from Texas").
Except, he's the POTUS and should know better and be held to a higher standard than a musical group.

There is a point we can agree on. The Republican party has been hijacked by the radical right wing and the religious kooks. Nothing conservative about the Republican party these days. In fact, with very few exceptions the Republicans offer nothing different than the Democrats except morality nonsense. I look forward to the day when conservative policies and platforms find their way back into Republican politics.

Hopefully the Dems will find a willing partner in this "dialogue" and "negotiation". Perhaps they will because both sides blame America. That is a starting point in negotiation. Common ground. Maybe all we have to give up are the Jews? These days the Left views Israel like they view "Big Oil" or "Big Tobacco".

I actually thought Bush could have been talking about Carter. He is the one that made the splash recently. And, in Israel.

But, the Dems know it's not just Carter. They know their name when called.

The press conference that Obama gave today should remove him from the list of who it could be. He said today that he would not meet with Hamas until after they gave up terrorism, recognized Israel, and accepted past agreements made.

That is the Bush policy on Hamas.

On Iran Obama said that he would not meet with them unless... well, it's basically the Bush policy.

And, he said that that position has never changed and he always had this position.

He did not say it was like the Bush policy. It is, but maybe Obama does not know that.

Obama also said that Bush was against the 6 party talks with N. Korea and then Obama went on to praise the 6 party talks. Actually that is false. Bush was for the 6 Party talks. The Dems were not, they thought we should meet and agree on a one on one agreement with N. Korea. Two Party talks. Bush rejected that.

Perhaps Obama is confused?

Anyway, if it is true that Obama's positions have not changed then I cannot understand why he would feel Bush was talking about him since the Obama policy on Hamas and Iran are the same as Bush.

It's true, you know. Yeah, I'm talking to you...the one still bitching about the 2000 and 2004 elections who can't understand that your far-left agenda was rejected by the American people. You're the guy crying that Bush "stole" the elections because you can't face up to the fact that your party "lost" the elections. After all, if your plan for America was so great, why were the numbers so close to begin with? Shouldn't you have won by a landslide? Oh, now you're the one saying that you WOULD have won but its just that most Americans are too stupid to "get it" and got tricked into voting for Bush twice. That's the party of inclusion for ya. You're just too smart and intellectual for us. If only you could get rid of that pesky "majority rules" thing, you could lead all us simpletons from the top down.

Nobody can stand you because all you do is complain. You're the friend that never likes the bar we're all hanging out at. We don't like it when our government is criticized by anyone, especially you. Allow me to weigh in:
IMO, Bush didn't steal anything. He was the true winner of 2000 and 2004. No argument.
But, his election had nothing to do with a "far left agenda" being rejected by the people.
AL GORE was rejected. Not because he was too "left" but because he was a condescending fool and had a way of talking "down" to everybody. He was a part of the Clinton Administration and, try as he did to distance himself, nobody was buying it.
Hell, he even got beat in his home state.
He was, simply, a bad candidate.
Kerry was beat, I believe, because Rove and Co convinced the people that changing horses in mid-stream was a bad thing. Historically, he would have been correct.
This time, though, should've been the exception to the rule (and history, I believe, will show that to be true).
Kerry was a good man although he didn't campaign well.
Also, in fairness to the person you were referencing who said "I'm a citizen of the WORLD first..." :
In these times of instant communication, the world is, indeed, shrinking. We all must think globally first. Not just Americans, but everybody.
