Biden calls Bush comments 'bulls**t'
Posted: 04:07 PM ET
From CNN Congressional Producer Ted Barrett
(CNN) — The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Joe Biden, D-Delaware, called President Bush’s comments accusing Sen. Barack Obama and other Democrats of wanting to appease terrorists "bulls**t” and said if the president disagrees so strongly with the idea of talking to Iran then he needs to fire his secretaries of State and Defense, both of whom Biden said have pushed to sit down with the Iranians.
“This is bullshit. This is malarkey. This is outrageous. Outrageous for the president of the United States to go to a foreign country, sit in the Knesset…and make this kind of ridiculous statement,” Biden said angrily in a brief interview just off the Senate floor.
“He’s the guy who’s weakened us. He’s the guy that’s increased the number of terrorists in the world. His policies have produced this vulnerability the United States has. His intelligence community pointed that out not me. The NIE has pointed that out and what are you talking about, is he going to fire Condi Rice? Condi Rice has talked about the need to sit down. So his first two appeasers are Rice and Gates. I hope he comes home and does something.”
He quoted Gates saying Wednesday that we “need to figure out a way to develop some leverage and then sit down and talk with them.”

Your comment makes no sense. He's not a "Monday Morning Quarterback" he's commenting on something bush said hours ago.

If Obama picked Joe Biden as VP, I'd really have to consider voting for him.
I just heard Joe explain why he made the bullshit comment on CNN. Joe said he once got a call from Condi Rice. Air Force II was on the tarmac with engines running waiting to take Joe over to see Qaddafi. Bush wanted to make a deal with him...
Joe also reminded us that Bush recently wrote a letter to Kim Jong-il. That letter started with "Dear Mr. Chairman"...
Joe reminded us that those two men were terrorists and responsible for nuclear proliferation and GWB felt it was fine to talk to them...
Joe Biden is one the smartest people in Washington.

Before the first primary I wanted Joe to get the nomination. If he picks him as his VP it will definitely help him. I really hope Obama considers this guy.

He's very well respected by people in the party. He echoes a lot of the anger that people in this country has, not to mention he is one of the smartest people in DC. He'd be an outstanding VP nod. He'd crush in the debates.

I dont know if it will be VP, but Biden will definitely be up for a top cabinet position...either Secretary of Defense or State

Joe Biden is a liar

Joe Biden says: "Unless we get 67 votes to override his veto, there’s nothing we can do to stop this war, but we must, we must, we must protect these troops."
Biden is a liar and a coward. As I have noted before [collecting posts], the premise that the Democrats lack the power to end the war without a veto-proof majority is a smokescreen. Art. I § 1 vests “[a]ll legislative powers herein granted … in a Congress of the United States”; § 8 grants Congress the power “[t]o … support armies” (but expressly qualifies that grant saying that “no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years”), and § 10 provides that “[n]o money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law.” So: the government may only spend money appropriated by law, only Congress can make law (and thus, appropriations), and appropriations for the army are expressly limited to two years. Any money spent after the money appropriated by the last Congress - and certainly any new expenditures - must come from new appropriations, that must pass this Congress. Democrats like to toot their horn about how much the war costs. Who’s writing the cheques?
Are you getting the picture now, Joe? You don’t have to override a veto. You have merely to stop signing the checks. But you haven’t done that and you aren’t going to do that, because that would bring down the final curtain on the war - and as I said in the post linked above, “[t]he goal of Congressional Democrats has been and continues to be to look like they oppose the war while doing nothing that will end it….” What Biden means is that if Congress uses the tools that it possesses to force and end to the war, that might expose the Democrats to political risk. They might ay a political cost for doing so. And while they're against the war, they'll end the war the instant that they can do so without risking their own political skin, and not a second before. They'll have the courage of their convictions the instant it requires no actual courage, requires no actual risk to themselves to do so. Of course there's something you can do to "stop this war," Biden, but you're too dishonest to admit it and too cowardly to do it. You're a disgrace.

Quote: Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden Jr., a U.S. senator from Delaware, was driven from the nomination battle after delivering, without attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader Neil Kinnock. A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to Biden's withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his law school years; the senator's boastful exaggerations of his academic record at a New Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in Biden's speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians.
So he is a liar and plagiarist ....no wonder leftbots want him on the ticket....he has many of Obama's traits !!

That vote was not for the presidency...maybe you missed it, that vote is in November. I voted for Obama to be the Democratic nominee...not to be the President.

but the democratic nominee will be the president.
paul has been in congress a very long time. wouldnt he of been charged, if doing fraudulent activtys?
i know he wouldnt be able to cut all social programs, but having a guy working towards that seems like a good thing to me. even if he only cut 20% of them, thats better then adding 20% as is current.
no income tax seems good to me also. people and businesses should not be penalized for productivity. the economy would boom like it never has before.

I've always liked Biden and I certainly listen when he speaks.
But, several years ago during a presidential campaign, he had to drop out when info about him plagiarizing speeches came to light.
He could be detrimental to the Dem ticket as a running mate but, yeah, I think he'd be a good Sec of State.

IF you truly believe that, then it doesn't matter what I did, right? And Obama being the nominee makes that much less likely to happen.
Quote: Originally posted by acefree paul has been in congress a very long time. wouldnt he of been charged, if doing fraudulent activtys?
Not fraudulant activities...fraud in that he says things in direct conflict with what he has done. (pork spending as 1 example) Has no real plans to institute what he says, and speaks of some reverence for the founding fathers, but does not seem to have any real understanding of them.

WHat is his plan, then to raise money for the government.. He talks about 'getting rid of the IRS'...but what tax system will he replace the current one with?? He certainly has not articulated anything to date... In other words, he is a fraud.

It looks like Republicans will counter the Democratic push for change from the years of the Bush administration with their own pledge to deliver, drum roll please, "the change you deserve." What the GOP doesn't seem to realize, is that "the change you deserve" is the registered advertising slogan of Effexor XR.
Effexor, also known as Venlafaxine, is approved for the treatment "of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder in adults." Its common side effects are very much in keeping with the world the House Republicans have striven to build: nausea, apathy, constipation, fatigue, vertigo, sexual dysfunction, sweating, memory loss, and - and I swear I am not making this up - "electric shock-like sensations also called 'brain zaps.'"

by your definition, all politicians are frauds. therefore your argument is a logical fallacy.
u say paul doesnt really believe in lower income taxes.
ron paul did vote for the bush tax cuts.
john mccain did vote against the tax cuts.
yet john mccain is saying " vote for me and ill lower your taxes"
his words and actions are the opposite. hes the real fraud.
logically and factually, ron paul is more conservative then john mccain on that issue.
and i could do that for almost every issue. its bizzare that u argue for the liberal.
