I have to admit that Howard's constant bitching really annoys me sometimes. The man said the other day he wished he could just take August off like the President does, but he already takes two and a half months off a year. Get the fuck over it!
Nothing makes me feel connected to a billionaire more than when he pretends to be one of the people by bitching about his 5 hour a day 4 day a week 42 week a year job.
What I hate most, however, is that feeling of being manipulated everytime he takes time off, vacations, etc. and they all pretend like it's not happening. We just tune in expecting him and he's gone because of some outdated marketing technique in Howard's stuck in the old days head.
The fact that he actually gave us a Ralph hosted Mammary Lane just shows how little he gets the audience.
I have no problem with Ralph, and his choices were funny, but they are hardly a replacement for a regular show. Quite Frankly, I would rather they play Bubba. |

If this board had any influence over the show, there'd be no more eric from hoboken calls, no robin, and no more fake shit. So do you really think howard would have given a shit if you had every single thread in the universe started on him taking fridays off?
And then, put yourself in his shoes. I'm assuming you work a monday thru friday job. (And if you don't be hypothetical for the sake of this conversation.)
Boss comes up to you and says "we'll pay you the same amount and you can have friday off, are you interested?"
So, while I, like you, LOATHE the fact that he takes fridays off, anyone in his position would have done the exact same thing. Yes, his job is easy, yes it's hard to even call it a job, but he's earned it just like you would have felt you earned it. Years of shitty pay, moving everywhere, getting fined by the FCC, having to change his format to fit the FCC shit....he's fought a hard road.
If anything, us clammering for friday's is a sign of respect; we want more howard. Which is sort of surprising because the two arguments contradict themselves....most people here say the show sucks and it's horrible blah blah blah, and those SAME people want him to work on friday. That's contradicting oneself, isn't it? If it sucks WHY WOULD YOU WANT AN EXTRA DAY OF HIM SUCKING? |

Oh like Artie would come in on a Friday when he doesn't have to. Give me a fucking break, the only people who would come in on Friday, without getting paid more, to earn air time would be Richard and Sal.
Honestly the whole situation is Sirius's fault. They wrote the contracts, requiring only so many live programs each week. THEY short changed the fans, not Howard.
Fuck, I'm willing to bet if everyone here was offered the chance at working only 4 days a week, and not 5 or more, while earning the same money they would all go to the 4 day work week. |

Those are the same idiot bosses who didn't want the show to replay all day, who wanted an hour of H1000 News at night.
If those bosses don't get their shit together, subscriptions are going to drop as fast as the stock price.
And if Howard retires, Sirius is done, unless those bosses come up with a plan to gradually introduce new Stern-related shows when Howard is on vacation, such as the Sal and Richard show (etc). |

Deal witht it people it is over. Fridays off thursday off no warning. The first bit Ralph played on Thursday was one when Howard stayed after the show to make a phony phone call. In the old days you couldn't get him to go home. Now he can't wait to get out of there.
All of these crappy shows Bubba, Jay Thomas, he is planning his exit. Dose anyone recall that he replaced Jay Thomas in New York. Why? Because he sucked! 25 years of censored radio. Now we only get 5 years of the good stuff and only 4 days a week. This week only 3 days. If howard leaves I am gone! There is no way I will listen to Bubba, I have tried. Never Jay Thomas. I am from New York and I remember how bad he was.
