As far as Dave goes, he is a Yankees fan, and I wont let a Sox fan bash him.
But when I served Navy and Marines got along fine.

It's too bad you're not around anymore, but I can't let you get away with this. Joba was drafted as a starter. He was a starter in college. He was a starter in A, AA, and AAA. The onyl reason he went to the bullpen was because he was reaching an innings limit. Turned out he was real good. Why was he real good as a setup man? Because he's a damn good pitcher! Brandon Webb would be a hell of a set up man, I bet. So would ROy Halladay or Josh Beckett.
Joba's plan from the day he signed was for him to be a starter. He was in the bullpen out of necessity. If you can't get to the eighth inning with a lead then what good is having a lights out set up man? Why waste Joba's talent for only 80 innings when you can have him up to 200??
And the reason they stretch him out now is so they don't have to do it next year when he's a starter from day one. Why is this so hard for people to understand? |
