| It was irritating last night as Joe tried to bring race into his discussion about Willie & Girardi questioning why Willie was on the hot seat and not Girardi. If in year 4 Girardi's team is playing like this he'll be on the hot seat, Giraradi has been managing this team for a few months and 2 of his best offensive players are out. I like Willie and wish him well but this is year 4 and the Mets did have an historic collapse a year ago and have played mediocre baseball most of the year. Right now they are better than the yanks but that doesn't mean Girardi should be on the hot seat w/ Willie. |

i agree 2 of best offensive players are out... but girardi won't be back for year 2 never mind if they miss the playoffs. |

granted the management at yankees signed the players and set up team.. .but joe d is gonna be the fall guy...
they basically took the same team.. added abunch of $$ to payroll to keep them and expect to win (they couldn't last year why would they do better this year?) and i am a huge yankee fan born & raised in the bronx... but they need some real pitching (for the last few years)
they should've dumped mussina, giambi & damon (they can afford it) |

Umm...Moose has been the second best pitcher on the staff, dumbass.
And they didn't add much in the way of payroll either.

The expectations are always to get to and win a WS BUT Girardi is not on the hot seat unless the play fo late continues for the rest of the season. We weren't good enough to win the division last year and we had basically the same team so why would we expect WS or bust? They are developing young pitching, we knew there could be growing pains. There's now ay Girardi should be on the hot seat b/c young pitchers have failed to come through int heir first years.
Taking a cue fromclueless Morgan Willie has now come out and played the race card. I like Willie but he's in desperation mode now and I do not believe he'll last the season- he may nopt even make it to the AS break unless a dramatic turnaround happens. |

that's what i meant... he's not on hot seat now.. but will be if it continues and they miss the playoffs |
