FRIDAYS ARE CHANGING AGAIN (LINK)
- Fans felt Mastertape Theatre didn't need to replay all day long so it's moving to Friday afternoons. Why is replaying Howard all day good but replaying MTT all day bad?
- We've heard lots of people say that they'd like a best of show like Mammary Lane on Fridays and now mornings are Best of the Week Stern Show. Will they finally be happy?
- I know it's not the Friday Show BUT what do you like about this change? What don't you like?
- What clips should be included? (LINK)
I'M GONNA SUE
- Dolly threatens to sue Howard over Richard's the audio book clips and it gets plenty of press. How did it make the show look?
- Howard didn't replay the clips. Pressure from the suits or respect for Dolly? (LINK)
- Howard says he'll continue having Richard cut up the audio books. Do you like these bits?
- After hearing Howard's channel 9 clip of Are you Smarter Than a 7th Grader, should Howard sue?
CANNIBAL FOR HOWARD: Howard found a chick this week that would eat human flesh for a chance to meet Bon Jovi. You call yourself a super fan? Well would you eat a people meat to meet Howard? (LINK)
HOWARD DUPES THE FANS
- Howard explains why he never tells us he's taking off. He's afraid people won't listen & prefers to "dupe" them. This way they may listen for an hour before they realize it's not a live show. (LINK)
- Robin admits that they sometimes promote specials and wasn't sure why Howard didn't promote the Ralph special. What are your thoughts? Is it because it was just 1 day and not a 2 week break?
- He says he'll certainly honor the remainder of the contract and considers continuing after that on a limited basis, afternoon shows, short work weeks, ISDN from home, etc. Is this just more of what howard's done for the past 20 years claiming "this" is the last contact or does he really mean it this time.
- Basically I just found it funny that he used the word dupe & felt it might bring some heat.
DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
- Paula's Shows seems to have been a hit. Howard played several clips, Robin's requesting a copy of it, and they all had fund doing impressions. With all the callers interest, should they bring this show back? Could she be our new Riley styled channel crazy?
- How did it compare to shows like Straight Talk w/ John the Stutterer, Chuck Zito's View, etc?
- Is it dangerous allowing these people in the building like Artie joked?
- We've been lacking wackos recently. Even our crazies have been seeming more normal. Was it refreshing to have Howard interacting with real crazy people again?
- Do they need to bring in more crazies? Maybe a hosted roundtable show where they have different NYC crazies in each week?
- Tim says he'll absolutely let Paula have another show. is it good radio to piss off the listeners?
REALITY TV
- Howard is upset with reality TV becasue it gives wack jobs like Denna Lohan a chance to get famous. Crazy people used to have to call th Stern Show to get attention. not sure where I'm going with this yet
- might be a chance to discuss the HPE Wackpack Halfway House Show or the idea of bringing back the MHS Show.

BEST OF THE WEEK PLUG
Each week on the SFRT, we'll announce which clips have been picked for the Friday morning Best of the Week Stern Show. Best of the week starts at 6AM on H100.

OVERTIME MASTERTAPE THEATRE KICK OFF SHOW
The SFRT replays at 2PM on Fridays and we'll go late into the 3PM timeslot to discuss the current weeks Mastertape Theater which begins right after our discussion. Mastertape Theatre for tomorrow is from October 31, 1997.
Show highlights:
* Kreskin in studio to perform séance to contact Sam Kinison
* Stuttering John on the phone while picking up people from methadone clinic to participate in Kreskin's séance.
* Crack Head Bob in studio dressed as Crackenstein.
* Howard chooses people from outside the studio who are dressed up for Halloween to participate in the séance. Lots of technical issues with the mics & cameras.
* Mark Wahlberg in studio for interview and plays the Gossip Game with Mike Walker. |

GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. We have 4 people on each show and I try to make at least one of them a brand new person who's never been on. You can make your requests here in the Super Fan Roundtable forum or you can email them here.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. (Google MAP) Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
DO NOT show up trashed. You won't be allowed on air.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

No one is acting like it is revolutionary, we're just happy we can hear parts of the show we may have missed. Plus we're not missing out out MTT - so what is the problem?
