and dont tell me you agree with that because in the other thread you said terrorism is a threat too. so hes saying you are more scared of terrorism than crossing the street too. maybe you are, im not. |
I missed that he is implying that it's silly to think about terrorism. He is judging that, by the tone of the posts, you and others are overly fearful.
I don't see where anyone has stated that terrorism is not a threat. |

I was empathetic to his plight. I, too, have expressed what I thought were easily comprehendable thoughts only to get caught up in an endless circle of regurgitated talking points.
I was hoping to move things past the stalemate. |

you are starting the same circle he started. his point is absolutely that if you are for stopping terrorism that you are afraid of it and that you shouldnt be because there are other ways to die.
a ridiculous argument.
go ahead and ask him if terrorism is a threat to the US and see what he says. i hope he says yes so we can tell him hes more scared of terrorism than crossing the street. but we both know he wont answer that question.
especially since he asked this. if you read this and tell me hes not implying that terrorism is not a threat and should be dismissed, then you are slow.

I don't believe that was his argument.
But, the argument that "if you are for stopping terrorism then you are afraid of it and that you shouldn't be because there are other ways to die" is, indeed, ridiculous. |

well lets pose the question to him "does he think terrorism is a threat to the US" and see what he says.

| Terrorism is a threat like unsafe cranes are threats. Both can be unsafe. |

| Unsafe cranes have killed more people in NYC then terrorism this year. |

The part that mostly interests me is: do you think, we as a country need to worry about it and bankrupt our resources doing it? YES OR NO?
"Worry about it and bankrupt our resources doing it ..."
I see how you got turned around regarding the point. But, I think, the major point is "bankrupt our resources doing it."
Is it worth that? |

OMFG this guy is funny. so should we do something about the threat or not? |

Is it worth that? | That's all I was trying to say. I think it's hilarious that most of the wrong-wingers on this site fear terrorism but have no problem burning fossil fuels. Again, as far as threats go, terrorism is FAR down on my list as things to worry about. |

this is my whole point fromthe beginning. NOBODY EVER SAID THAT TERRORISM IS THE HIGHEST ON THEIR LIST OF WORRIES BUT YOU SUGGESTED IT WAS.
so should we do something about the threat of terrorism or not?
btw, if you look on this site, and im sure charlie will back me up, i am a proponent of clean air and using less fossil fuels. |

On the bright side, we can all agree that we should at least give terrorism the same attention we give unsafe cranes.

Yes. In spite of any e-fights and arguments we've had, I have heard you argue for less dependence on fossil fuels. |

:D | Well, I work in Manhattan and take the subway every day and I fear unsafe cranes more but terrorism is a tactic that the Greeks used against the city of Troy, our forefathers used against the British and will be used many, many years after Mutt's great grandchildren sell SFN! |

I will admit that I MIGHT have a better chance getting killed in a terrorist attack then dying by rattlesnake. Only because I live in the NYC area. BUT.............if I happen to take a trip to the Bronx Zoo, then the rattlesnake is a bigger threat. |

That's very true. Terrorism has been around an awfully long time, in one form or another.
So has suicide bombers. In WWII, they were called kamakazis.
I, too, have fewer worries about terrorism, frankly, than the worries I have of how much worse Bush will fuck up our lives before leaving Office.
But, that's not to say that America shouldn't be intelligently aware of the reality of terrorist attacks.
But, fear causes bad ideas and legislation. The Patriot Act, for instance, was drafted out of fear and is terrible legislation. There are a lot of improvements needed for America to gain a more realistic approach to world and domestic terror. |

You are a fucking no good Muslim loving terrorist sympathizer. If I had mt way you and all your family would be rounded up and sent to Guantanamo. It is fucking terrorist lovers like you that will cost us this war and our way of life.
If you really think that we are this bad, why don't you pack your shit and move anywhere in the middle east. You wont, because you know that no matter how much you hate this country, it
is still the best place to live in the world.
I hope one of blackwater's death squad will come and shoot your traitor ass along with your WHOLE family . You are a cancer in this country and need to be executed or deported.
"I would prefer that they kill you" You are teaching your children to hate this country.
YOU ARE THE PROBLEM, not the solution.
GET THE FUCK OUT OR SHUT THE HELL UP.
I will find you and give you a ham sandwich, bury a pig with any of your dead relatives
and let a homosexual Jew fuck you in the ass. DROP DEAD ASSHOLE. |
My opinion of Abba and what should happen too him still stands :D |

in that scenario would you send the royal family a letter first, that they should fear a rusty nail in the foot and stop worrying about the SEALs? and then attack them when they are buying steel bottom boots? |
