I really thought I had entered an alternate universe at the conclusion of this episode. Seeing the whole interview (well most of it - more later) including the live musical performance and to top it off we even got the CD track from Cyndi that Howard played as the guests mingled about in the studio after the segment which continued on over the end credits. Wow. Whatever was done here needs to be done every time for every musical guest. This was a perfect presentation all around.

Now, there was a bit of content removed from the interview where Cyndi talked about the tour and Howard mentioned some of them possibly being gay like Joan Jett. I don't know if this is considered slander or not. It's a comedic program, Doug. Also removed was Cyndi saying that the song True Colors was about a friend of hers that died of AIDS.

Yea, it was very refreshing to hear real music on HTV.

I guess some musicians allow them to play it for free? Or if they are actually paying for music now that would be amazing (doubtful though).

I noticed on one show recently they actually played the real Jeopardy theme, which they must have paid for the rights to air or they just overlooked it. Maybe they really are shelling out for music rights now, but it would really surprise me.

I agree, this was well done. Now if we could just get rid of the new guy doing pre and post interviews, all would be good.

Unfortunately I can no longer receive HTV - thanks to Atlantic Broadband

shit I would really like to see this, but my fucking provider is takeing its sweet time. I haven't got this Cyndi Lauper thing or the Hottest Chick/Scar thing either. I keep getting the other shows like the Jean Claude thing, but it won't update the daily shows for some reason

Good work. More musical performances would be great and worth the price of the subscription.

i was thinking the same thing....i mean, if he would have at least live musicians at least once every couple weeks, it'd be awesome, specially these guys doing acoustic

Yeah Greg should definitely be the man for that job at all times.

Bra-Fucking-Vo!!

Now this is how these shows should be shown. It was great to see and hear the music performance. If they did more of these shows like this, I think they might get more subscribers.

Best suprise since I got HTV was hearing "All Through the Night".

Now, was this a one time thing, or a new policy?

Great episode!! Cyndi probably owns the rights and that was the reason HTV was able to show the performance. Goodstein never answers any questions so you'll never what the official policy is.

The live track was written by Jules Shear and is published through BMI.

The new songs aren't in the ASCAP database yet but the CD is on the Sony/Epic label.

The Alanis episode has all the music cut out of it. Damn you to hell HTV.

Not only did these motherfuckers cut out the two Alanis songs but they cut out Artie singing Dreamin' to Alanis and they had the balls to end the segment (out in the halls) with asking Alanis what she thought of him singing to her! Fucking Christ.

Also, the classic Artie line is missing where he calls back the muy importante line from Alanis. She says a bunch of confusing stuff and Artie says, "I haven't understood anything since muy importante." :D

More Bullshit Editing:

Playmates Jayde & Juliette - they cut out huge chunks where Jayde talked about being from Canada (and other stuff) for no apparent reason. Maybe 8 minutes. Why?

Here's the breakdown of the missing segment(s) from Marksfriggin:

Quote: Howard introduced Jayde and Juliette Frette as they were coming in. Howard said that they both looked great. Howard congratulated Jayde on her Playmate of the Year title. She said that she won $100,000 for that title. She also got a new Cadillac CTS which is one of her favorite cars. She said that she lives in Canada so she doesn't have to pay taxes on that.

Howard heard that Jayde was saying the name of a fruit the wrong way but when she said cantaloupe she said it right. Howard asked her to say ''I really want to do Artie.'' She didn't know who he was so she asked to see him. Artie said hello to her but she didn't know who he was.

Jayde said that she's 22 years old and she's been a model for a long time. She's 5'9'' tall and said that she doesn't think that this will hurt her career. She said that it can hurt it for some things but it can make things better for others. She said that she's already getting noticed for doing the Playboy thing.

Howard asked Jayde when she started to blossom and asked if her teachers ever hit on her. Jayde said she started to blossom when she was in grade 9 or so. She said that she never had a teacher come on to her but there were some that were nicer than others. Howard said that he heard a story from Beth about a principal who was coming to her house to make her feel better when she was suspended from school. Jayde said that she and the principal were buddies too. Howard said that when you're a good looking person it's almost as if you're a big star when you're in school.

A little later:

Quote: Howard asked Jayde if she has a boyfriend now. She said that she doesn't talk about that. She said that she doesn't talk about that stuff. She said that she does go to the Playboy mansion to talk to the girls but she doesn't do the celebrities.

Jayde said that she doesn't like celebrities, she likes regular guys. She said that she's a rocker and named a few bands that Howard and Artie didn't recognize. She finally said Nirvana and Guns N Roses which were a couple that they recognized.

Howard asked Jayde what celebrities have hit on her. Gary asked if Pauly Shore ever hit on her. She didn't want to talk about that. She said that she's not into guys who have slept with a ton of women. Howard said that he'd blow his load in 3 seconds if he was with Jayde. He said that she looks amazing in the pictures.

More:

Quote: Howard asked the girls if they've ever been brought up to Hef's room to see what's going on there. Juliette said that they have been very respectful to her. She said that she has had some guys hit on her at the mansion but she's not looking for men there. She said that some guys have asked her out but she wasn't sure she wanted to disclose that information. She said that there are guys who are known for asking people out a lot. Artie started naming names like Tony Curtis, James Caan, Drew Carey, Pauly Shore and others. She said that it was Pauly.

Jayde said that she got a call from Pauly one morning when she was sleeping and it turned out that he was on some radio show and they didn't tell her.

Juliette said that she was never popular in school and she was kind of sarcastic and inquisitive. Howard asked the girls if they like anal. Juliette said that she'd ask the guy to stop demanding strange things from her if a guy asked her to do that. Howard asked Robin how old she was when she did that for the first time. She said she was about 27.

Douchestein strikes again.

What's happening with these musical guests episodes is nothing short of disgraceful.

HTV has to have SOME damn money to play these great performances.
