This is the 06-05-08 Super Fan Roundtable Brainstorming Thread. Here I lay out the show and ask you the fans, what should we discuss? Help us plan the show here by letting me know what this weeks hot topics are?
This weeks guests are chadmd, Tim (email), rogny, & dharmabum.
MERGER - The merger was discussed again. It's in the news. there's talk that the FCC will rule this month. is there anything more that the super fans can say?

CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. We have 4 people on each show and I try to make at least one of them a brand new person who's never been on. You can make your requests here in the Super Fan Roundtable forum or you can email them here.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. (Google MAP) Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Howard explains that 4 1/2 hours is what you get. he's contracted for 4 hrs so he's already going over a 1/2 hour every day. those 5 - 5/12 long shows were him going way above & beyond cause it was new. Now he's just going a little above & beyond.
he did throw out a maybe we will show up on a friday & gave an example that not too long ago he did do a surprise evening show. (the ISDN test)
Howard agreed with the caller when he said if his boss paid him double time he'd come in on his day off. joking howard said exactly, Mel pay me double time and I'll come in Friday |

Howard has a pretty insane amount of money as it is.. If this were to ever happen (in some fantasy world), what would that extra pay get him? What can't he afford already?
Talk about the fans trying to ignore how much Howard has changed throughout the years and then suddenly today they get the most blatant form of "seriously guys, I'm a different person now", and they all get pissed off |

I really think The Bubba Call needs to be addressed. Since he is the backbone of 101, and has brought his own brand of fans in, not only to his show but new listeners to Howard. Can this affect the channels.. where does it go from here..??
i think everything else is good, adding Bubba would create a good balance, 101 and 100..
and YES... I think he is outing Sal.! |

I was waiting for the call but when i finally heard it, I didn't come up with a discussion topic. I think it took so long for the call that he had calmed down. wasn't what I expected |

Please Mutt, PLEASE bring up how self-congratulatory Sa Sa Stupid is about going to Iraq, and the significant annoyance of many die-hards at his pompous bullshite on TWUS. Booey is a terrible broadcaster and WAY too big for his britches.
Also, they badmouthed Robin Williams' USO trip but I know for a fact he was in spots as (and likely way more) dangerous than Afghanistan -- he was at my brother's base with Kid Rock (who did the same tour, so who the eff is Boy Gary to talk about a friend of the show's value and risk taking as a USO performer) and they lost 3 men from their company alone in the past 12 mos at that base. Say what you want, they were WAY more psyched to see Kid Rock and Robin Williams than the Artie Lange Experience.
So it would seem Tough Guy Gary (whose going doesn't excite a single soldier and punishes everyone who has to listen to his unjustifiable snide prattling about how he went) should put on a welder's mask, book some better guests, and get over himself. |

- How can he be the producer and not listen to the show? Week after week he comes in to say something that they just said or ask a question they just explained. He's getting as bad as Ralph. Does he need a comeuppance from Howard?
