This is the 06-12-08 Super Fan Roundtable Brainstorming Thread. Here I lay out the show and ask you the fans, what should we discuss? Help us plan the show here by letting me know what this weeks hot topics are?
This weeks we have a star studded panel with Dr Ivan, Don Jamison, Victor (email), & Maryanne From Brooklyn.
FUCK GARY
- Was bob as out of line as Howard said he was or did Howard overreact?
- Whether or not it was a smart thing for Bob to say, do you agree or disagree with him? Does the show owe him more?
- Is saying fuck Gary the same as saying fuck Howard?
- Artie & Sal seemed to jump to Levy's defense. Should they have toed the company line?
- Howard wanted an apology and though he didn't really get it to his satisfaction, he let him slide & sorta blew the whole thing off. Are you surprised how it went down?
- Howard is giving Bob a 2nd chance, do you think he'll blow it and if so, how soon?
- I know Howard said there will be no punishment but did you get the impression he was really upset? Still upset?
- Was Bob's shit real? Some people claim it was all a on air bit so Rev could get his air time with Howard.
- Would Bubba ever go off on the Stern Show like that or does he have too much respect for Howard?
- Would Howard have reacted the same if it had been Bubba? if you think is reaction would have been different, why?
- Levy said he had a deal with Gary for plugs. This really seemed to shock Gary. Will there be plug repercussions or do you think it's really
water under the bridge and things will go on as always?
RETURN OF THE GUESTS (LINK)
- some people complain the show hasn't had a lot of quality guests on. But recently we've had Rosie O'Donnell, Alanis Morissette, Mary McCormack and Charlie Murphy. Throw in Will the Farter, the Playboy Chicks, Tito Ortiz and Chuck Zito and the show has been jam packed with guests the last two weeks. So, are you happy about it or upset about it? (do you like guests)
- We've all heard callers bitching about the lack of A-listers. Do these guest meet your high standards?
WILL THE FARTER
- Every time you think Will the Farter has gone as far as the fartin gimic will take him, he comes up with a new angle. What did you think of his Fartistry?
- Which bits gross you out the most - farting, queefing, vomitting, etc... Too much? Not enough?
RAPID FIRE: what are your thoughts?
- Chuck Zito, is he really the best radio guy out there as Howard says?
- Yucko & Nicole, tragedy or comedy?
- Bowling Beauty Tracy would dump her boyfriend for Artie if he converter to judaism, sincere?
- Howard & Beth's lack of foreplay, trouble in paradise?
- Lisa G could be into Artie if he changed everything about himself & got a trainer, compliment or insult?
- Ronnnie Mund - totally outta line these day or same old same old?
BEST OF THE WEEK
- What were the highlights of the week? What needs to be replayed Friday?
- How are you liking the Best of the Week replay setup? If they were making modifications, what do you recommend?
this weeks mastertape theater is from June 6th 2001

UPCOMING SHOW SCHEDULE
THE SCHEDULE IS POSTED IN THE ROUNDTABLE FORUM
If you'd like to be on the show, follow the directions and let me know.

LIST OF ALL PREVIOUS SHOWS, THE GUESTS, & THE LISTENING THREADS.
SHOW NOTES
Go straight to the super fan roundtable forum - www.TheFanShow.com
You can email the show at SuperFanRoundtable@gmail.com
CALLING INTO THE SHOW: When calling into the show, there's no need to give shout outs to SFN or your friends on SFN. We don't have a ton of time so please don't waste any of it. We already have topics setup. Please be a good caller and respond to the topics. Thanks 1-888-STERN-101
GETTING ON THE SHOW: Each week I start a roundtable brainstorming thread where the fans help build our topics and a listening thread where people discuss the show while it's happening. if you'd like to do the show, get in there and participate. Once you've been around for awhile and see how the show works, ask to be on and pick a open date. The schedule can be found here. We have 4 people on each show and I try to make at least one of them a brand new person who's never been on. You can make your requests here in the Super Fan Roundtable forum or you can email them here.
GUESTS OF THE SHOW: The show airs from the Sirius studios in NYC Times Square. It's on the 36th floor of the McGraw Hill building on the corner of 49th & 6th in studio 21. (Google MAP) Guests should be there at 6PM so we can do mic checks. The show goes live at 7PM. You can not bring any friends. our studio is very small and there's really no place for them. I'll need your full name in advance and you need to bring your ID for security. If I don't put you on the list and you don't have your ID, you will not be able to get in.
This is an office and you are expected to be on your best behavior. It's not some free for all party. You shouldn't do anything that you would do when stopping by the bank. You cannot bring alcohol, take off your clothes, make noise, or bother people. I know you are a Stern fan but we're not out at the bar. You need to be cool. Don't stop them and ask for an autograph or photo. Everytime one of you misbehaves, I get a new rule to follow.
You CAN NOT walk around Sirius. You will be escorted from the upstairs lobby to the studio and back out. Do not take it upon yourself to just walk around & check things out. Nobody is allowed to stop by other shows. DO NOT stop by Ferrall's studio under any circumstances even if you think it's OK. I've been told by management that it's not. If you'd like to be a guest on Ferrall, they need to put you on their guest list.
You may take photos in the studio but please do not take pictures in the halls or lobby.
DO NOT sign the wall.
All plugs must be approved in advance. If you are going to be on the show and you have something to plug, you need to let me know the day before. ANYONE WHO PLUGS A WEBSITE OR BUSINESS WITHOUT PERMISSION WILL NOT BE INVITED BACK. |

Yes they did....this allowed the 1st replay for Thursdays show to be aired at Midnight Saturday (early Sunday) then the second replay of Thursday playedmid day Sunday...basically it only gave any listener ONE opportunity to hear Thursdays show....WHICH I MISSED!!! I wanted to hear ETM, and Howards Movie wife....PLUS I missed SFRT because every week they seem to change the replay time...I was LOVING the Friday re-airing of the show and now thats gone....BASICALLY TOO MANY CHANGES.....BAD CHANGES.....THE SCHEDULE ONLINE IF OFTEN WRONG....Give me the replays on the weekend as M/T all day Sat then W/Th all day Sun.....on H100 |

Howard wanted an apology for Levy's tirade against Gary & the Stern Show. He didn't really apologize to Howard's satisfaction BUT Howard let him slide & sorta blew the whole thing off. Are you surprised how it went down?
I know Howard said there will be no punishment and let Bob off the hook but did you get the impression he was really upset? Was still upset?
Was Bob's shit real? Some people claim it was all a on air bit so Rev could get his air time with Howard.
Would Howard have been so cool if it had been Bubba? Would Bubba ever go off on the Stern Show like that or does he have too much respect for Howard?
Levy said he had a deal with Gary for plugs. This really seemed to shock Gary. Will there be repricussions or do you think it's really water under the bridge and things will go on as always? |

well, what did they do on 101? it was also the weeks shows being replayed but at a different schedule. I'll look into it.
what I do know is this schedule is new and they don't have it all figured out yet. I'll let them know you concern & I'm sure they'll make an adjustment if it is fucked up.
you are right, the online schedule is horrible |

Bob Levy used to buy ads.
When Howard says, "What other comedian..."
Bob has legit put money into Sirius. And Sirius has made an investment in HIM (through Miserable Men).
Levy provides hours of programming for H101 - and does his show when Stern and company are on break.
It works both ways - except Howard can threaten to put away his toys at any point, which leaves Bob to scramble and grovel. |
|

Something to add on about the Levy thing, which blossoms into a different discussion entirely. Howard was very seriously talking about taking away Levy's show, but there have been a number of times Howard has clearly said he doesn't have the authority to get involved with things like that. Howard won't get involved in show disputes with Riley and Tim or contract negotiations with Bubba and Sirius, always claiming that it's between them and Sirius management, and that his name is just on the channels and he has no real say in anything that happens. Yet he sounded damn sure he could get rid of Levy's show, and even with Bubba it was Howard's last minute phone call to the higher ups that allowed that all to go through.
Does Howard just say he has no power as an excuse to not have to deal with all the various feuds and problems personalties have with the Sirius, or is Howard not really the end all be all when it comes to deciding what goes on Howard 100 and Howard 101? |

I doubt the levy stuff will still be a topic come thurs. alot of show to cover between now & then and very rarly does a monday topic last till thurs. if Howard had given him the cold shoulder we probably would have had followup but as it stands, i think it'll just fade away. I guess we'll have to see. maybe it'll stew with Howard and he'll get more mad but it seems like he's just gonna put it behind him.
BUT... if it lasts till then we'll have Jamison who I'm sure will have comments based on getting airtime / plugs & working with Lecy & Maryanne from Brooklyn who clearly has an opinion about the way Artie handled it. |

| thanks for the pics mutt...not sure how much any one has requested this, but i'd like to hear the WUS come on after each repeat of the show. normally, i hear the show from 6 - 7 AM on my drive, then catch a repeat of the news w/ robin on the way home. after that, there's normally a half hour or so of stern show news and then they run the whole show again. when i get to hear the WUS (usually i catch some of it before new shows in the morning), i especially like hearing booey's behind-the-scenes stuff and opinions. just my $0.02, good job with the site and show... |

I agree 100% but Tim & John always tell me it's not possible becasue there aren't enough hours in the day. I don't understand this becasue it's a 6 hr block & 24 hours in a day so it should fit perfect but evidently there are news segments and god know what else that screw it up.
for example, the 6 hr block doesn't start replaying until 12:15 becasue of the noon news. still, I'd rather they do it all day and we just loose part of the very last replay before Howard goes live in the morning
Wow, Alannis sounds awesome |

| I think the level of guests Howard is getting lately needs to be discussed. I mean do we really need to hear from D-list guests? Howard is the best interviewer ever why can't he get A-list and at least B-list celebrities? It's just tiring listening to irrelevant, insignificant, and never have been D-list celebrities. When he does get an A-list celebrities they call in. I am trying to make a list of the guests for the year so I can illustrate my point and I will post it when I get done. |

I know people bitch about guests but to hear it on a day that Alannis came in is weird. She doens't rank for you? I'm surprised but I like it. always good when people disagree
as for your list of guests. last time we did this I got a list from Jason and there were alot more big names on there than I realized. I'll try and get that list again and see if we have a good topic.
still with alanis, charly murphy & mini me on one show, discussing guests sounds good |

i agree - probably the biggest topic of the week. you could cover a few different angles on it as well - bob as an ungrateful regular, RT's stuck in the middle (and probably should have defended the show's side in that they need to space people out), does the show owe people like bob more for being on the show? they get plugs, but should they get paid, more credit, etc. also (IMHO) bob's not too bright to bite the hand that feeds him - what's bob's motivation for blowing up, especially after he's warned that he shouldn't by tim? |

With the list of guests you have on the show(SFRT) and with all the talk of how critical Howard Stern fans can be sometimes.
Why not discuss, what makes use different from any other fan bases and are we products of our environment(THSS)? :D |

i don't think the "level" of guests is an issue. the show has never consistently had A list stars in. i think robin once said, they get them on the way up and the way down.
also, i think the best parts of the show are guest-free.
one issue that still bugs me that i'd like to hear discussed is the relegation of MTT to its one-time friday afternoon play. the best-of-the-week that replaced it on 101 seems pretty useless, but maybe other people like it, i don't know. |
|

I like the show better without guests.
Having said that , i dont mind the guest he has been having but the porn stars and playmates need to go.
If he is not having them in to do a stunt or play a game then I dont see the point of it.
Who cares what these bimbos have to say. |

Thanks for looking into this MUTT....I giess in reality my beef with the weekend replay schedule is a few things...
1) It continutes to change and no type of announcement is made...so as soon as I get used to one weekend schedule, set my recodrings around it, it switches....
2) This newest change for the weekend schedule ONLY in reality gives Thursdays replay ONE time for the regular listener to listen too....The midnight Friday replay is normal every week...the fact that the FIRST weekend replay was Saturday/Sunday at MIDNIGHT is bullshit...most people arent gonna listen midnight on the weekend....the old schedule of 2 shows a day on the weekend gave the average listener TWO times to hear both days of shows....
whatever....what do I know...anyway give me the number for the SFRT I should be calling in this Thursday....I got my blue tooth, and now UNLIMITED minutes so I can call in hours early and just sit in hold.....its on! |

| This topic may not be specific to just this week's shows; but I'd love to hear the staff's weight issues discussed, especially in light of Jason Kaplan's expanding girth. It seems that every staff member who participated in the last big weight loss challenge, has gained back all of the weight and then some. Is the Stern show a breeding ground for fatties; and an unhealthy lifestyle? Is Robin resorting to dangerous health practices just to keep the pounds off? Why are so many members of the staff so overweight? |

RAPID FIRE: what are your thoughts?
- Chuck Zito, is he really the best radio guy out there as Howard says?
- Yucko & Nicole, tragedy or comedy?
- Bowling Beauty Tracy would dump her boyfriend for Artie if he converter to judaism, sincere?
- Howard & Beth's lack of foreplay, trouble in paradise?
- Lisa G could be into Artie if he changed everything about himself & got a trainer, compliment or insult?
- Howard from Pittsburgh, Really Ralph or guy who sounds like Ralph doing an accent |

| Mutt, the Presidential race is starting to heat up and Howard's comments about Obama and McCain have stirred things up around here. Even the hint that Howard might support McCain has riled people up. |
