Bush was not marketed as the great orator where people faint (real or not) at his speeches and speaking ability....
The room is extremely quiet on the first video...he SAYS he can't hear himself, but no one else is talking...not to mention that it has just a bumbling 'I have no clue what I am supposed to say' quality to it..
Second video is not as bad as the first, however, breathalizer???? Inhalator???? Huh????
And these are NOT the first Barack Hussein Obama screw ups....the list is long. this is just the latest.

Then again, as NCMike has already pointed out, President Bush was not touted as one of the greatest orators in a generation.
That aside, OK - so Obama is prone to the same gaffes that the President is.
Does that mean that all of the vitriol that the President has endured from the Left in the past 7 years was unwarranted, or are they, as the Left says about Bush, both idiots?
Please explain.

Bush is a president that dumbs down his speeches. Uses workds like folks. To relate to the audience by saying he is just one of them. From a president I would expect them to take the position seriously and demand more from us.
Could you imagine "We the folks" instead of "We the people."
Bush took these gaffes and dumbing down of his speeches to a new level and has had almost 8 yrs to pile them up. Obama is not even close and is not on the same fast track as Bush is.

Heard that this morning on the Rush Limbaugh comedy show and he noted that his producers
took out the background audience noise so that it would play better. George W. Bush has lowered
the bar so far as to what appears to be "presidential" that I would hardly mind if Obama was
wearing shorts and swigging a beer while addressing the audience.
So let me guess, 67 months or more of NCMike pulling apart every atom of Obama. Great. How

John McCain is an empty suit? Now that is grasping at straws.
Well, if Obama is as well-versed on the issues as you would lead people to believe, then he should accept McCain's challenge to 10 town hall debates this summer - no moderators, no press.
If you watched any of the Democrat debates and saw how Clinton wiped the floor with Obama, you would know why McCain's challenge is the last thing he should expose himself to. But I could be wrong - let's see Obama put up or shut up.
I fully admit he is great at delivering prepared speeches in front of tens of thousands and talking about "change," "hope" and "changing the world."
Answering a question without a prepared script is another thing altogether as we saw during the debates. For your sake, I hope Obama is memorizing those policy proposals he had his aides write up and post on his website.

No, I am merely stating the fact that Obama peformed very poorly during the debates. Obama is a very gifted speaker, but debates are not his thing. Now, that is either because he gets nervous, doesn't get enough sleep the night before or isn't capable of talking about the issues unless he is reading from a prepared speech. Which one is it?

A couple of weeks ago I was thinking the general election would be close, but since than the "republican machine" attacks on Obama have been so weak that I can't see anything other than a blowout Obama win. Those clips are an example of what they're trotting out because there isn't much to use. I almost feel bad for them, they used to be really good at this negative campaign stuff, but they've clearly lost it. It also must suck that they have 6000 hours of useless Hillary tapes that they've compiling for the last 8 years.

being bad at debating has no relevance as to how one will perform as president.

That's how the debates came off to me. He didn't come accross as rehearsed; he seemed sincere in what he was saying. He was also up against someone who was extremely skilled in the debate format and he handled her with ease. McCain is no Clinton, he's a monotone uninspiring old man. He will get crushed in a debate against Obama. He knows this; it's why he's proposing the town hall format. Unfortunately, this is going to blow up in his face as soon as 1 wounded soldier stands up and asks a question.

good points. obama may be inexperienced as a senator, but going up against the clinton machine for a year gave him the best experience u can get at compaigning and debating.

I'm going to attempt to steer this back into a useful debate:
Personally, I think the whole "who has the more gaffes" contest is stupid. Nobody in their right mind thinks Obama doesn't know how many states there are. The point of this thread should be the town hall meetings, and how Obama is obviously not as strong speaking off the cuff as he is at large, pre-planned events. Hence the reason McCain challenged him (and why he is so far not accepting the challenge). It presents a question as to whether Obama is the charismatic, inspirational speaker (and lets face it, that is his greatest strength) he appears to be.
Answering this question about Obama with more mindless copy & pastes about Bush or McCain is a chickenshit way to avoid the issue.

To be fair, Obama only comes off as a brilliant orator because we've had to sit through eight years of horribly mangled english spoken in a fake southern accent.
At this point, anyone who can stand behind a lecturn and string two sentences together looks like fucking Einstein.

This is not true. Kucinich has, and had four years ago, detailed plans and has introduced important bills in Congress. More importantly, he takes the right positions. If people would actually look instead of allowing the media to marginalize him and only look at the surface, they might be surprised at the benefit of Kucinich's proposals to all people.
