I love the Constitution as well, which IS this country. Unfortunately, since our deviation from the constitution in the 2000 election, this country has moved further and further away from it, becoming a shadow of its former self.

Here's hoping that that trend will reverse with a new president. :beer:

I have been to Italy over 20 times, Germany, Austria, France, England, Mexico, Canada Brazil, Argentina.

America is great in many ways, for people to think all problems are the democratic's or republican's fault, such as many here suggest one way or the other, is stupid. Many of the faults in this country is a direct fault of those two refusing to vote bipartisan even when necessary.

I've been to many countries also, and lived in 3 (besides the US) for a period of time, and I believe the US is still one of the greatest nations on earth even with the recent decline and high population of conservative lunatics.

That said, I chose to settle in Australia. :)

My sister-in-law, who is a doctor, would welcome socialized medicine. She said it would be a lot cheaper to give somebody a check-up once a year then someone who walks into a doctor's office with no health insurance and they have been procrastinating because of the $$ it will cost and then it's TOO LATE for them to do anything. So, you have a person who is going to die. They become the burden on the system.

Hmmm...I play golf regularly in a foursome with a doctor, he says the cost of prevention would be greater than treatment.....BTW, when you have "free" healthcare, people won't be going to the doctor once a year, they'll be there for every ache and pain.....

I have health insurance and I hate going to the doctor. Of course you will always have your hypochondriac but according to my sister-in-law, prevention is much cheaper then caring for a non-insured person who already has cancer (or any other fatal disease) and has to be taken care of til they die.

times you were illegally jailed/lost your freedom (habeas corpus).........

locations/times where you were have been illegally searched....

things illegally seized from you.....

place that the courts have ruled where you have a reasonable expectation of privacy and you were treated illegally....

some court cases would help that pertain to you....

Genetics,water quality and air quality have all been linked to cancer, the problem with insurance is a lot of them won't cover the early detection procedures

As a civil rights advocate, Obama makes me proud. As a citizen of the USA, it makes me angry that so many people willfully support this man's policies without looking at the fine print.

Personally, I'm happy with the fine print.

That's like saying if you don't have auto insurance, the insurance companies won't give you coverage when you get in an accident, duh.

I can tell you that there are hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens that get great healthcare in Los Angeles. My friend is a doctor at LA County and 50%+ of his patients don't have insurance. I wonder whose premiums and taxes are paying for those unisured patients.
