This special broadcast will be co-hosted by radio personality and Move America Forward Chairman Melanie Morgan and blogger-extraordinaire Michelle Malkin and will feature national radio powerhouses Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Dr. Laura Schlessigner, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, NBC’s “America’s Favorite Mom” Patti Patton-Bader, reports from our military men and women on the frontlines of Iraq & Afghanistan, music, stars of stage and screen, and many MANY other special guests.
The historic telethon is being organized by Move America Forward, the nation’s largest pro-troop organization. Move America Forward has shipped over 40 TONS of care packages to our troops filled with food for their enjoyment, other necessities and message of appreciation and encouragement from home. Now we’re doing one better by sending over the largest shipment of care packages to our troops in American history.
These care packages will be sponsored by pledges made by viewers during the “From the Frontlines” telethon, and shipped by Move America Forward just in time for the 4th of July holiday. Our troops will receive these special 4th of July care packages, crammed with all kinds of items for their personal care and comfort, just as Americans stateside are celebrating the freedoms and liberties made possible thanks to the service and sacrifice of our noble service men and women. |

Nice post - heard about this today.
Where are the Air America personalities - how come they won't take part in a fundraiser that raises money for care packages for our troops? |

This is my mom, since the war started my mom has been doing this.. She hates Bush and this war she has no ties to the miltary at all. She stores this stuff in a moderate 3 bedroom home. She does this twice a year and it basically is a never ending thing. She starts one drive as soon as the previous one ends.
SOUTH WHITTIER - As sheriff's deputies helped load dozens of boxes of supplies destined for U.S. Marines in Iraq, Smith fondly recalled a recent e-mail she received from "a boy" stationed there.

"He said, `Can you imagine how it feels to be so far away and be able to open up a package of Famous Amos cookies?"' said Smith, 73, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department volunteer, who has worked tirelessly over the past few years to collect and ship goodies and extra supplies to Marines in Iraq.
That's why she always makes sure the shipments include plenty of the popular cookies - and Rice Krispies treats, the Marines' No. 1 favorite.
Her shipments go from her home every spring and winter to Camp Pendleton as part of Operation Interdependence.
"I started doing this three weeks after the war started because I saw it was something that needed to be done," said Smith.
She gets support from deputies at the sheriff's Norwalk Station, where she's been a volunteer for more than six years.
Donated items are dropped off at the Norwalk Station, and Smith also solicits donations from local businesses, such as See's Candies and Sam's Club.
She brings the items home and packs them into boxes and ships them to Camp Pendleton, where they are divided into smaller care packages and shipped overseas.
Sheriff's Sgt. Tom McNeal was among a half-dozen faithful volunteers who gave Smith a hand Thursday - a task he has gladly taken on the past three years.
"It seems like this war has been going on for so long that people have forgotten about those stationed over there," he said. "And Mrs Smith been doing this for so long that I didn't want to let her down either."
Smith said her first collections started at about 800 pounds. Six years later, they're topping the scales at 25,000 pounds.
"I just want them to feel like they're at home, or like a piece of home is coming to them," Smith said.

Because they are protecting our "freedom" from the evil Iraqis that were plotting to invade the United States and convert our Christian nation to their Moos-lam ways...09/11 changed EVERYTHING! |

Again if you don't want to donate thats fine. By the way i'm a disabled vet, so I think the troops are special. I will never give somebody grief for not joining the Military. If you don't respect what we do for this country then I guess you are some kinda hippy or something. |

Knowing what I do about you, which is next to nothing, the starting assumption is that you are entitled to the default degree of respect owed to all human beings. Your service to the military does not make you any more special than the rest of us. I sympathize with you for the physical and psychological damage that your service to the military has cost you; I only wish that in the future no one else will experience the same kind of victimization. My concern also lies with the victims on the other side of the troops, who are much worse off. |

"Your service to the military does not make you any more special than the rest of us".
I never said it did. I was just giving a little background is all. Your opinions on anything don't matter to me. I simply posted so anybody who wanted to donate could. If you don't want to donate then don't. Trashing people for doing some good just makes you look, well, whatever. |
