it wasn't complimentary to her though. He's implying she's made shit up about their email "relationship" i.e. it doesn't exist - his assistant replied to her one email saying thankyou on his behalf.

| I actually didn't find it strange if he was e-mailing with her. After all, she's donated the maximum to his campaign and has helped with other major fundraising for Obama. Would it really be that unusual? |

there's nothing wrong at all with them exchanging emails. I couldn't care less.
I like the idea that Michelle Obama was pissed about it and to get back in her good books he had to publicly burn Scarlett ... funny :D |

| That doesn't shock me either. I was more tlaking about Howard and the gang going off on him for it. I mean, I'm not naive...I realize it would be more exciting to have a gorgeous young Holywood Starlet to thank for major fundraising than a 60 year old businessman, but seriousy....If I had personally donated $4,600 to the Obama campaign (I certainly can't afford that, however I have donated on a few occasions what I can) and had helped raise hundreds of thousands if not millions more (The "Yes I Can" video had to bring in a lot of donations) I would probably even expect some sort of personal acknowledgment from the candidate himself. Howard seemed to completely ignore that aspect of the situation, which is crucial. |

Yep, Scarlett Johansson also volunteered for his campaign. She was attending get out the vote events for the Obama campaign. She did speeches for the campaign. She made phone calls. She did a lot of work for the campaign, so it's hardly unusual to get an email thanking her.

But of course, the media would rather try to turn an email into a "relationship". They throw in words like "relationship" to imply Obama was cheating on his wife with an attractive blonde actress, or even that he was trying to pursue her somehow. Howard fell for it. |
