Barack Obama calls Iran a 'threat'
Press TV
Friday, June 27, 2008
US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama calls the Islamic Republic of Iran a 'threat' during a word association game in a TV interview.
In an interview on Fox Business channel Thursday, Obama played a word association game, responding in rapid-fire to words thrown at him by the program anchor.
When given the word 'Iran' Obama responded by saying 'threat'. The Illinois Senator also described Republican Presidential hopeful John McCain as 'honorable'.
Earlier this month, Obama called Iran a threat when addressing the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
"The danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat," he told his audience at the gathering.
Obama also stressed that he would always keep the military option against Iran on the table to defend US security and its ally, Israel.
The presumptive Democratic nominee has said he would do everything in his power to go against Iran if it does not stop threatening Israel and continues uranium enrichment.
But political observers say Barack Obama is simply using harsh rhetoric against the Islamic Republic to secure his Presidency with the support of influential pro-Israel lobbies in the US. |

The only threat to Obama from Iran is the fact that they would support him in his run for the U.S. Presidency.
I think with these statements he is really fighting that threat. The Hamas endorsement really did not seem to help Obama, not that it was really covered by the media.
Whatever the case, I would not be concerned with these remarks. He was just saying what he thought would help him today. Catch him another day and he will say something else. That is the good thing about Obama if you don't like his position today, stick around he will certainly change it.
Of course Obamabots are brain dead and don't care what he says anyway, about anything. His base is secure. |

So you claim Obama lies about everything yet you are lying about the Hamas support as Hamas recanted their statement after Obama gave his speech supporting Israel.
No offense, but you're the liar.

Limbaugh falsely suggested Hamas supports Obama
Summary: Rush Limbaugh asserted, "Hamas has endorsed Obama. ... Why do you think they've endorsed Obama? Because they want a very strong ally for Israel in the White House?" In fact, Obama stated his support for Israel in a speech June 4 speech in which he said: "Those who threaten Israel threaten us. ... And I will bring to the White House an unshakeable commitment to Israel's security." Hamas reportedly responded to Obama's remarks by saying, "Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates, Obama and McCain, because their policies regarding the Arab-Israel conflict are the same and are hostile to us, therefore we do have no preference and are not wishing for either of them to win." |

I did not know they had backed out of their support. So, does that help Obama or hurt him?
Thanks for keeping me up to date on the level of terrorist support for Obama. |

It's not my fault I did not know Hamas had recanted their statement of support.
Thanks again for the update.
You will not see me repeat this. If I see anyone saying anything like this again I will forward them to this thread where they will see you explaining that Hamas has recanted and no longer does Hamas support Obama for the Presidency.
You have done well...

The question becomes...what will his position become next week... ? Maybe we should check his schedule and see who he is set to give a prepared speech in front of....and then we can figure it out...
After all, its 'change we can believe in' |

my point was that all you do is post rhetoric and hyperbole and it is almost entirely untrue, yet you for some reason carry it like a badge - dishonesty and lies are at your core as you display here everyday while you "work" |

A war on Iran has been envisaged since the mid-1990s as part of a strategic "sequencing" of theater operations. During the Clinton administration, US Central Command (USCENTCOM) had formulated "in war theater plans" to invade first Iraq and then Iran:
"The broad national security interests and objectives expressed in the President's National Security Strategy (NSS) and the Chairman's National Military Strategy (NMS) form the foundation of the United States Central Command's theater strategy. The NSS directs implementation of a strategy of dual containment of the rogue states of Iraq and Iran as long as those states pose a threat to U.S. interests, to other states in the region, and to their own citizens. Dual containment is designed to maintain the balance of power in the region without depending on either Iraq or Iran. USCENTCOM's theater strategy is interest-based and threat-focused. The purpose of U.S. engagement, as espoused in the NSS, is to protect the United States' vital interest in the region - uninterrupted, secure U.S./Allied access to Gulf oil." |
