May I recommend reading the book on the Battan Death March. Japanese soldiers would go by and slice off the heads of U.S. prisoners of war. Make them drink their own urine.

Japanese culture was to NEVER GIVE UP. They had no respect for prisoners of war, for you should fight to the death. Prisoners were shameful to them, hence why there were really no Japanese POWs during WWII.
Let's not even mention what they did to the Chinese. Cutting fetuses out of mothers; Killing off whole villages for sport. They made Nazi's look like Catholic school boys.
