From a longtime MAD magazine writer I know:
I just heard Chevy Chase on the Stern show, including the discussion about his
being a writer for MAD. How Chevy was recruited to boost the magazine's
readership up to 18-year-olds, and how he turned down an invitation to join
National Lampoon because MAD was paying him twice as much, and how writing for
MAD came easily to him, and so forth.
What he forgot to mention is that he wrote a single 1-page back cover gag for
them:

I suppose I should be personally gratified that a guy who's had a pretty
successful career thinks he can embellish it in 2008 by puffing up his MAD
resume. But it's still weird.

| Chevy Chase has one good movie, Caddyshack and limited success at SNL. People were so stoned in the 70's, they laughed at everything. Just watch an old SNL show, its not funny. |
