My Sirius subscription is officially up. I called Sirius today to find out when I could expect the actual merging of content and accounts so I could get rid of this piece of crap sportster 5 and make my GM radio my default satellite radio. I can't get a clear answer from them so I decided not to re-up until I know what exactly is going on.
I then called XM and asked them the same question and got a bit of clarification. (many of you probably already know this, but I did not.)
When the two companies officially merge content, you will either be a sirius subscriber who can opt to buy "best of XM" channels for an additional cost or you can be an XM subscriber and buy "Best of Sirius" channels for an additional cost.
My goal is to eliminate the after market Sirius radio that is has nothing but a nightmare since I bought it. Not to mention that fact that I would prefer just using my factory stereo system to listen to Howard and a few other channels.
The XM rep said that the "Best of XM/Sirius" line up has yet to be announced but it should be coming down the pike any day now and to call back in the next 3 or 4 days. So thats what I am going to do. I have to wait it out with out howard online or in the car for my commute for what will probably be the rest of the week (at least) until I know what the real deal is. |

Apparently Howard is going to start this week on XM 100, but I think they are just doing tests to make sure everything is working.
Howard is on XM the 6th for sure tho. |

Just spoke to XM.
Howard is officially available on XM (Best of Sirius). I just added it to my XM subscription.
So long Sirius. I will miss Faction28 though. :( |

How much did they charge you?
I am 4 months into my prepaid 1 year XM subscription and I called them to see if I could add the best of Sirius to my existing subscription and they told me it would be $186. First the sales person could barely speak english and everytime I tried to get an explanation or verify the price they pushed a 2 year subscription. From the website it looks like the best of Sirius is $4 more than the standard subscription, so charge me $32 ($4 X the remaining 8 months) and add it to my current subscription. Is this really to difficult to understand? I even offered to sign up a new 1 year subscription for $203.88 ($16.99 X 12) and then they could deduct the remaining 8 months on my current subscription ($12.95 X 8) or $103.60 and charge me an additional $100.28. They never could explain how they got $186 so I gave up. I'll try again later. |

Oh, good. That's what I'll do w/my husband's new truck. He had a trial period of XM (like a month or two) and it's now up. I will call XM and ask for Best of Sirius w/the package when I renew the subscription. Thanks for the heads up.
(I didn't want to call Hummer &/or XM and sound like a retard.) :db: |

| hey Jeff, did they add the best of to your current XM subscription or did you have to start a new subscription? and how much did they charge you. I've talked to 4 different reps in the last week and they insist I have to start a new subscription at the full price on top of what I have already paid, bullshit! |
