My radio is constatly "updating the channels" This happens daily, somtime two or three times a day.
Is it time for a radio upgrade?? What is happening all the sudden? |

It's certainly possible this is temporary if it just started happening this week. There is a lot of updating channels happening. I know my radios have all updated at least twice since Monday. If it doesn't stop soon though I would look into maybe getting a new radio.
What kind do you have? |

| it's happened to me a couple times this past week too....i don;t mind the updating but what pisses me off is when i'm 20 min behind the actual show and i lose those 20 min when it's done updating |

Apoc i agree, the worst time is when I am running behind and then miss something that I had paused.
I have a Sportster, and this has been going on for a month now.
It really sucks!!!!!!!!! |

| Same Here.. Sportster radio and I have updated 20+ times in the last 2 weeks, almost every time I turn it on for any length of time... What is going on? |

I just got off the phone with one of the Sirius techies. Apparently, the software update -- which was done whether you wanted it or not -- is freezing up some of the models, Starmate 2 being one example, and they're saying you have to buy a new radio even though their own software wrecked the unit. |

| I thought it was only my unit. Will wait for the update to be over I suppose. I would hate to have to buy a new unit. I love my original Starmate 1. |

I've been fighting these updates for about a month now, every time I see "Updating Channels", I shut the power off, then right back on and the update notice does not come back for a few days. Meanwhile all functions and channels are the same.
(I have the original 2005 model Sportster). |
