Thank you for sending us your feedback regarding the Howard Stern show
and our equipment. We here at SIRIUS Satellite Radio are just as
excited as you are to be the sole broadcaster of the Howard Stern show.
Beginning in January of 2006, we will bring Howard Stern and his show to
all of our listeners wherever they are - all at no additional cost.

In the coming months we will share updates including channel and
schedules to our customers on our website, sirius.com, and through email
messages. You can also contact us to get the latest information. We
are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at
customercare@sirius-radio.com and 888-539-SIRIUS

At this time our equipment does not have a recording feature. Our
receiver partners are very innovative and many have won awards for their
products. Solutions like these are always contemplated and based on the
potential could be developed. Since Sirius is not in the hardware
business, we work with our expert partners to develop the right products
to support our current and potential customers. If anything changes we
will announce that information-stay tuned to our website for all our
latest news and updates.

Tyrone, we are dedicated to providing quality service and customer
satisfaction. We encourage comments on how we can improve our service.
Thanks again for taking the time to write in!

Sincerely,

Holly

That's cool with me. As long as they do it.

Here's the response I got:

"At the present time, we do not have the rights necessary to market a
device capable of recording the SIRIUS Satellite Radio streams. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Keep your eye out for the CES show in Vegas, its the first week of January, Sirius will be there in a big way and this is where you see all the "new" stuff coming for the year....

i'll be going to vegas for CES (like for the last 15 years...) and i'll report on what sirius has up it's sleeves...

they would be morons for not putting out a portable reciever that also records. XM is putting out one made by Delphi, I think.

It is over 400 bucks though!

Here's one that we have been talking about at work: Video. What if you could watch real time the stern show on a similar device, but it has a small video screen. Give it about 2 years. It is coming.

good question

I am reading that many XM portable users are quite unhappy. It seems if you can keep the line of sight it’s ok. Otherwise the unit works ok at best unless there you are in an area where there are repeaters.

if you can listen online(and you can), it would follow that you can record to your hard drive. No?
;)

This is pretty good software that I have used
All Recorder

or you can use a In-line recorder for the Sirius radio at radio shack

that might be a bad idea.

the pdf manual says it has mono out...

so if you record music channels, it's mono.

for the stern show, might not be bad.

but when they have singers as guests, the songs will sound AM'ish...
