As the iPod charges triumphantly into the holiday season thoughts are already turning to what the next generation of Apple players will hold. The grapevine has been circulating for weeks the notion that a flash memory iPod will be announced during Steve Jobs keynote at Macworld on January 11. Now the rumor mill is suggesting another unit will be unveiled that day.

Rumors are circulating that Apple has signed a deal with one of the satellite radio companies, Sirius, to market iPods that can receive and record that company's satellite broadcasts.

Although this is just a rumor this would be good for Sirius just because the iPod is widely known (whether or not its the best mp3 player).

iPod is the #1 mp3 player and if they hook up with sirius for a mp3 player/satelite recieve... it would be amazing.

I would definitely get one if this turns out to be true! Otherwise, I'll probably just download the pirated shows from the newsgroups...

Doesn’t the iPod already receive XM ?

No.. XM has some gay receiver that lets you record the shows using mp3 and then take it with you and listen to the recorded stuff, but only has 128mb of memory so you can't really do anything with it and it only records 5hrs,,.. it stinks

There's no way XM couple compete with an ipod reciever with 4-40gb of memory

MacWorld is nexth month...I wouldn't doubt it to be true. Around a month before the U2 iPod came out I was reading rumors online...
