Crackhead Booey
big time sports fan. bulls, tigers, dolphins, and Blackhawks (when there was hockey)

Horse - your from Chicago and i know you like the bears. what do you think is going to happen this year in MLB with the cubs/sox? I see cubs winning nl central and sox coming in 3rd or 4th in AL central.
svvish
Big time sports fan. Just doesn't seem to be many NBA fans around here.

NFL = Vikings
NBA= Kings
MLB= Bo Sox

I hope your right with that baseball prognosticating. I think the Cubbies have a good chance at winning the division, it just depends on how well they make up for the loss of Alou and Soso. Im glad Soso is gone but he did produce alot of rbi.
Crackhead Booey
losing sosa shouldn't be that big a deal. I think losing alou was worse. He was a better hitter because he made more contact! Dlee and Aramirez should hit great with Nomar and Patterson. Those 4 could carry the club. They just need the pitching to stay healthy, which I'm not sold on. I heard Prior is pitching with a small tear in his elbow. Wood is coming off an up and own season, zambrano is a horse but will all the innings hurt him down the stretch? maddux is just amazing and rusch? Who knows what he'll do. The chemistry in the clubhouse is better and from playing some college ball let me tell you that shit isn't BS. A couple bad guys can fuck up the rest!

May just be that it's slow for sports right now. February is just a bad sports month - no NFL, MLB, NHL (this year). NBA is around if you like hoops (college, yeah, pros, Zzzz....). Things will heat up again in a month or so.

As for the Cubs , I think they may sniff a wild card spot again if everything goes right.
Kiddnets
exactly - this is the dog days of Feb - hot stove NFL to start next week though!!1

Don't forget that they are a little iffy on their closer. Dempster is unproven and you already know what Hawkins can do for ya.

Why do you say that bout the Sox? They have a great pitching staff...well compared to last year. They have added speed to their team as well as good defensive players. I think they can take the division from Minnesota which did very little to improve this year. I can't wait until April 4th!
JoeBeningo
this forum will pick up during march madness as people fill out their brackets and seek to avoid bracketbusters; also in the first few weeks of april, the yankees and red sox play 6 times.. so that should bring out the boston v. NY rivarly on the board.

nobody has to worry about hockey playoffs this year.. and the nba playoffs is 3 months long, so its tough to build excitement without that first round 5 game series
