Photos from the Comedy Spectacular
02-18-05 The Electric Factory in Philly

w/ Artie Lange, Rev Bob Levy, Jim Florentine, High Pitch Eric, Kenneth Keith Kallenbach, Joe Matarese, Paul DellAngelo, Angry Black, Elephant Boy, Miss Amputee, Double A, Dan the Song Parody Man, and more.

It was a great show. the place was crazy packed and out of control. Photos and video clips inside.

Y2Koam, SternFan98, and Dean from www.DeansPlanet.com were there too. Had many beers with Dean. Real nice guy. Y2Koam caught me on a beer run and it was nice to see another member in real world.

Song Parody Man came down with Artie. Dan is always cool and it was good to see him. First time I've caught up with him since he got his gig with the show. We couldn't be happier for him. Oh, and good news. He and Bob have kissed and made up.

Cousin Ed from WYSP was there and it was really weird to put a face to the voice.

Miss Amputee was there and her girlfriend gave me a www.missamputee.com t-shirt

Westbrook was there and we were all excited, until we found out it was some other Westbrook who coincidently was also previously an Eagle.

Kennith Keith did a great job. Hid jokes may have been bad, but he took the beating like a man. It was a hostile crowd but he just plowed right through it never letting up or giving in to the "asshole" chants.

As usual several people asked me if I was Mark from www.MarksFriggin.com :) Everyone knows that site and rightfully so, Mark does a fuckin phenomenal job.

On the flip side Artie remembered me from a comedy show when Widget & I were dressed for a Halloween party and he remembered by buddy Scott from AC at the John vs Cabbie fight. He's the real deal people. Straight up nice guy. How the hell did he remember us from that long ago. He must meet so many people.

High Pitch was really weird and acting sorta like Beetlejuice. He didn't want to talk to any fans or have pictures taken. He just kept holding up his hand and saying not now as he walked away. He wouldn't even let me take pictures which is so odd because my pictures are all over his website and he's always been so nice in the past. Then he was working the back room door deciding who could come in. By the end of the night he was all pissed off at me and said that the people at KMS are nicer than the people here. Paul told him to cut it out. Thanks Paul. I don't know whats going on with him. A month ago we were all buddy buddy.

Speaking of Paul, I think his whole family was there to see him onstage.

We caught up with DayDreams Steve in the parking lot, but he had to park his car yet and we didn't see him again afterwords. It's a shame.

Got several compliments on the SFN t-shirt. A couple people tried buying them, but I only had the one I was wearing.

They loved Bob & Florentine, but they really loved Artie. He is a god to drunken assholes. Artie started attacking these two mannequins on the stage. it was hysterical and got the crowd all worked up. Between the two shows, the electric factory crew removed the offending mannequins.

High Pitch went on after Artie and closed the show. He said 2 jokes and then goodnight. Short but sweet.

Double A was there with 2 wrestling belts. Angry Black and Irish John came down with Hook Nosed Mike. Fred the Elephant boy was hanging out as well. I need to remember to send him some photos. He fell asleep on the couch before I could get his email address. It's always more fun when the show regulars make it to the comedy shows.

The 70's guys showed up and pissed off Bob. He had then thrown out. They weren't supposed to be backstage anyway.

There was a comic I hadn't seen before, Joe Matarese. He went up first and that Philly crowd yelled through his whole act. They just wanted Artie and had been in line for over an hour in the freezing cold. he didn't have a chance. They were yelling before the show and kept in up right through Pauls into and Joe's act. If you were close enough to hear him over the drunken screams, he was a funny guy.

Here's my quick review of things, as a member of the floor audience. Felt bad for Paul, as the crowd didn't even give him a chance. He looked kind of nervous out there too, which didn't help, but I can't blame him. Joe Matarese seemed like he would've been funny had some assholes shut the hell up, but again, it was cold outside and they just wanted Artie. Kenneth Keith was annoying and unfunny. Florentine was next and the crowd dug him. Bob was next, and although I saw him recently at the Stress Factory, he was still funny. I have to say that myself and the guys I was with agreed that Bob's act is funnier than Artie's. Anyway, Artie was next, and is it me or does anyone else think he wasn't drinking alcohol up there? Having seen him twice now, I'm pretty sure he was definitely drunk at the Stress Factory show, but I'm not so sure he was drunk last night (at least for the first show). Overall, a fun show though.

wow,sounds like a good time.

I was supposed to go with a girl I work with but she backed out at the last minute so I had to wait til my husband got home. By the time we found a parking spot and got the tickets (Thanks Rev!), Florentine was on. It was jam packed and there was no hope of finding anyone. It was my first time seeing Rev, he is fucking hysterical, had my husband laughing and he is a tough crowd. He was also happy to see Jim Florentine because he is a fan of Crank Yankers.

The crowd was crazy rough. Lots of guys yelling. I could barely hear Artie once he came on. I had one guy saying over and over again that all of his stuff is on the DVD and then I had some guy right behind me yelling random stuff to Artie (we were towards the back, mind you) over and over again. I only heard the beginning of Artie then just everyone else's yelling so we left before he ended.

Nice to read those reports...thanks!

Artie is the first to say that Rev Bob is funnier than himself. I hate that we won't get Artie's account of the evening anytime soon. I can't wait to hear what his strategery with his drinking was for the night/2 shows. Did anyone go to his signing?

That crowd sounds totally annoying. They didn't give the first guys a chance. High Pitch better bring his 'tude down a notch or two. He thinks he's all that. Well, his 15 minutes have basically run out. He totally reminds me of Bart Simpson with the "I Didn't Do It" mantra that grew tiresome. We love the Wack Packers IN SMALL DOSES and NOT with inflated over-inflated egos.:rolleye2:

I'm eager to see the pics and vids you have, Mutt! Was Kimba there? Does she have anything to add to what's been stated here already?
Irish John
Paul D rocked, Florentine was fucking hilarious, Levy pissed on stage on a red sox hat, and was incredibly hilarious working the crowd..Artie ruled, threw drinks at John Wayne statue, then kicked his ass !!! DVD signing was great, lines out the door !!Thank you again Artie & Dan.....Philly, you rock !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doc

Great to see everyone who made it to the shows/DVD signing. Mutt, I can wait to see your pics, as well as everyone else's. Philly is one kick-ass town. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success! The Pizza & Cannolis at the DVD signing made the event complete! Thanks to John for bringing the 10 pizzas, and special thanks to HPE for letting everyone else share the 1 1/2 remaining pies after he was finished!

thanks for the tickets, mutt. i had a blast.

a note...
i had my mp3 player with me at the show. it has a built in mic, and i thought to record artie's set for my own later enjoyment.

i assume there would be copyright issues w/ me posting the file. if not, let me know.
Mutt
chadp1234, sure man but they are really from Bob so thank him. as for the clip, comics don't usually like giving out their whole act. Thats why when I post clips, I post them interacting with the crowd instead of playing their jokes.

I'm uploading photos right now. hopefully the gallery is in working order

I was trying to fix the damn watermark thing. they are up now. I uploaded them during my 2 hr nap between 3am and 5am before going back out snow plowing. :) I just got home again. Must go find some sleep.

worked 6am - 4pm plowed from 7pm till 3am napped 3:30am till 5:30am plowed 6am till now. bed time or beer time. I'm not sure which yet.

never got the damn watermark thing to work, but I did get lots of little config problems straightened out. I'm damn close now. Maybe a fresh look at it will make all the difference.
