To all Stern Followers:
Here is what I envision.
1. Stern moves to Sirius. His fans remain loyal and spend the small amount of money for his amazing radio show and a shitload of other great content. As a result, Stern truly becomes the King of all media in the process making FM radio irrelevant. In addition, the FCC becomes less relevant as they no longer police any legitimate shows with any real listeners.
2. Stern moves to Sirius. His fans are cheap bastards and don't convert causing Stern to lose listeners, Sirius to remain unprofitable, and ultimately causing the downfall of both Stern and Sirius. It is entirely possible that if Sirius doesn't improve its revenue numbers and manage to pull a profit in the next 1/2 decade or so then they will have no MONEY. If they have no MONEY how will they keep up with their obligations to PAY HOWARD his $500 million contract. So it is clear to me that we the fans have the power to sink Howard and Sirius by being cheap and disloyal or we can shell out a few bucks we would've have otherwise spent on Beer and Pizza and allow Sirius to become profitable, allowing them to actually pay Howard, allowing us to be able to continue listening to the greatest show of all time. Make no mistakes, Howard Stern, Artie, and rest of the crew have never needed their fans as much as they do right now. It's up to you the fan: put up or shut up!
Anyway, that's my two cents on the whole thing.

This is going to be like Cable in 1980.
It will Grow... HOWARD is the kinda guy that brings everyone to the table.

The E! Channel
I remember that was one of the first things I asked when I got my cable service. E! was nothing before Howard. NOW they are pretty big, well big enough to fuck with the reason they are known :rolleyes:
Howard & Sirius will be huge. They are getting allot of things besides Howard !! Also the more the Government fucks with Art. The more people will pay a couple extra bucks.
The best thing that can happen is Our Stupid White People to keep staying out of control. |

I agree. I think Stern has the ability to make Sirius and satellite radio the biggest thing since sliced bread. But, it is critical that we as Stern fans do our part and support the new medium Howard has chosen to move to. Honestly, even without Stern, Sirius is a worthy investment (Jim Bruer, Sports, etc.) However, with Stern Sirius is a no brainer choice (at least for me). I personally think the show will take on an interesting dynamic on satellite and bring out sides of Howard, Artie, and the rest of the crew (plus guests) that we haven't seen before. I can't imagine dragging myself into work every morning (my 1+ commute from hell) without Howard to entertain me and put me in a jolly mood for work.
Bottom line: Howard fucking rocks!

| Satellite Radio (both XM & Sirius) will be successful. A good example is not just Howard moving to E! - think back to what happened when MTV first started. Not everyone wanted or even told their cable company "I want my MTV!" but everyone knew what MTV was. That got more discussion going about the different programming that was on cable at the time and the amount of choices viewers had vs. broadcast TV. |
