has it occurred to anyone that howard should have pushed for the web broadcast of his sirius show to be available for subscription.
like 10 a month or something. that way you dont have to buy all the sirius equipment if all you want is stern.
you can sit at home with your computer on and listen to stern... then at the end of the show, go back to your life.
no need for tons of equipment. |

| I think you can listen to a stream from the Sirius website. |

| Currently, there are some stations that are not available through the web. I havent heard about Howard's station, but that would be another way for Sirius to cash in on his show.... |

| I would definitely opt for that. Otherwise I won't be able to listen at work. |

well from listening to howard talk about it, he says the show probably will be streamed on the internet.
BUT only for sirius subscribers... as in you have all the equipment and stuff.
i am talking about a solely internet stream based subscription. |

Me too. How do you get access to the stream? Would you have to pay for the service even though you didn't have the equipment? I'm not really interested in having satellite radio except for listening to The Show. |

Yeah, I know........but, it actually is a pretty decent service, so maybe consider it.
If you do, here is a rebate form for $50 towards the purchase of their equipment.

i think you can purchase the subscription and equipment seperatly. so you could activate your subscription but never purchase the receiver. |

hmm interesting...
so basically we would be paying 13 a month for the stern show stream...
as well as some other random streamed channels.
thats not to bad. and if we end up liking it we can buy equipment later? |

Once you've picked your SIRIUS system, choose a subscription plan. They start at only $12.95/mo. and offer several money-saving long-term options. Remember: Every subscription plan gets you every SIRIUS channel.

that is really really really lame.
also it goes back to my main point then....
sirius should stream the show and allow people to just access the stream.
heck make it 15 a month. that way they can pay the servers, pay howard, and still make some for themself. |

true, but couldn't you activate without having the receiver? when i activated mine, the guy just said that he was turning my service on and i had to tell him when it came across my radio. |

Can't have an activation without the signal sent to the receiver.
IF the show is streamed, another way of going about it is having a few people chip in on a subscription and everyone access the show online. The online streaming can be done by anyone and doesn't seem to care if multiple people are accessing the service with the same account. My family all use my account to listen online but I have all the equipment. |

TONS of equipment? My receiver fits in my hand and only is probably less than a pound. It only cost $50.
Trust me, once you have it you will listen to more than Howard, I feel like I cant remember what it was like to hear commercials in between songs and its only been a few months. |

well thats your reciever... i am guessing you have to put that reciever into a boombox or into your dash to hear it.
so if you go to work you have carry a boombox with you....?
or take the reciever from your car to inside your house.....
LAME!!
we should be able to pay for just howard.
between MP3 players and IPODS many people have no use for music radio anymore. all we want is the Stern Show. |
