| I just listened to a download of the 7-29 show when Artie was out and they were rehashing his meltdown. They were talking about how good Artie would have it if he went with them to Sirius, and Howard made reference to "ten weeks vacation and a four-day work week." wtf? Are they really only going to be on four days a week, and have 10 weeks vacation? |

Again Howard's crazy, the number 1 and 2 things to enhance the quality of my life I would do if I were Howard would be to:
-Move the show to the afternoon so he could both get better guests and actually have a life during the week and maybe take advantage of his NYC surroundings. He wouldn't lose ONE listener, in fact he'd gain them. MOST Stern fans I know have a hellish time catching the show in the mornings, it's too hectic. Why at 51 he continually needs to do the overrated morning drive slot blows my mind. ESPECIALLY all on his terms at Sirius where he could basically do whatever he wants. To insist on getting up at 4am when you get paid EXACTLY the same or what have you to do morning radio is outright mental patient masochism.
-Take Mondays off instead of Friday. With that power I sure as hell wouldn't take Fridays I would take Mondays off.
I am just so fucking sick of endless holidays, graduations, pro ball games, softball leagues, weddings, super bowls, concerts etc and party like scenarios that have a massive black cloud hanging over it because you have to work the next day(Monday) and it pretty much ruins the entire event. Because all you do is ruminate about how much you don't want to go to work on Monday and the event is more watered down than a mixed drink at the ESPN Zone. There can never be any remote REAL let-it-fly to the wee hours hardcore boozehound fun under those conditions on any typical Sunday.
I don't know what Howard's obsession with Fridays off is? Monday is a much cooler day to take off, not even close. Also working on Friday has always had a laid back and good mood sort of feeling that it's almost like you're not even working.
Also in the Hamptons there's surely cool A-list stuff going on on Sunday that having off Monday would be ideal for. All his jerkoff poser friends seem to have Mondays off as well.
P.S. I admittedly don't have Howard's type-A hypercompetitive complex so maybe I'm not relating too well, my attitude in life is much more like Adam Carolla's work ethic(or lack there of) work as little as humanly possible and get away with it and always have some break to look forward to to maintain your sanity. |

you should email that to Howard.. That is actually some very good suggestions. Maybe Howard should set up a poll with some questions on his site and let the listeners decide what they would want. |

Hahahhaha :D I was thinking that too! It really is the time when than Jew in him rises like a Phoenixstein.
Ya know I think in most cases we ALL want to work as little as possible, it's human nature I think. It's just that MOST people aren't honest about it because they're terrified look to like a slacker in capitalistic America. The people I know who are "workaholics"(the most overused word in the lexicon) are insecure type Aholes that simply love to brag about how much or how hard they work as if you're supposed to impressed they leave the house at 6am and return at 10pm woofing down Chinese Food dripping all over their tie as they doze off in front of Sportscenter.
Let's face it for most of us when you're at work you have someone you despise telling what to do all day while you're wearing clothes you don't want to wear, and waking up at a time you don't want to be awake, doing a task you don't enjoy doing, and why you would want to OVERdo that is assinine. Sometimes the money of it all just isn't worth if you don't have time to spend it or your personal integrity is shot to shit. |

I agree Arm is making a lot of sense.
I for one, though, would hate it if he switched the show to the afternoons. I'm so used to waking up at six and listening. |

Thanks man, maybe I will, I've pretty passionate about that for some time now when I realized on a normal work day it was waaaay too hard to catch the show like a wanted to and was too frazzled in the morning to focus on the show like I wanted to. |

Well I understand that but the show is SOOOO fricken huge they could just replay again in the mornings(every time zone) and not a SOUL would complain to hear it twice as well. |

Whatever, man. Before starting this post, I did a search on "vacation" and didn't see the topic mentioned. Sorry to offend you by posting something that actually pertains to the show. |

Howard e'll ditch the four day work weak after the eight thousandth mention of it from the callers.
I like the feel of The Show in the morning and believe me Howard would start to hate an afternoon schedule.
Howard's used to being done with his day by four and has said a few times that no matter what he does or how late he stays up the night before he always wakes up by seven in the morning.Maybe Howard should bump his start time back to like eight and run The Show 24-7 after it wraps.
I fucking hope he runs The Show 24-7.That's another benefit I want from Sirius,to always have something to listen to(Howard)with out having to keep up with newly dated cds and shit. |
