Howard Stern has found a new home on television.
Soon you can enjoy his shows in a whole new way.
What exactly is Howard Stern On Demand?
Howard Stern On Demand is a subscription video on demand television offering that will be available from multiple television service providers. It will also be the only way you can watch Howard Stern’s radio shows on television, with the convenience of On Demand viewing.
What exactly will I be able to see when I subscribe?
You will be able to enjoy unlimited access to more than 20 hours a month of shows from Howard Stern’s radio show and his new Howard Stern Sirius Radio Show when it goes on the air. The selection of shows will be updated every week.
What is On Demand?
On Demand is part of most cable companies’ digital cable offerings. It lets you select programs, watch them whenever you want, and pause, fast-forward or rewind them using your cable remote.
What does subscription Video On Demand mean?
With subscription Video On Demand, you elect to pay an additional monthly fee to your television provider to have unlimited access to video highlights of Howard Stern’s past and present radio shows. If you are not sure if you have video on demand call your local television provider.
How much will it cost?
The monthly subscription cost will be announced when the package is available to order. Unofficial announcement is $10 a month. Howard says it will be a couple bucks.

I havent been here for a month as I have been out of the country. Is this new? I did a search for on demand and didn't find any discussion. |

wow he was really acurate when he said it would be "a couple bucks" a month.
This is a fucking ripoff. I'm just gearing up to ignore Howard's inevitable anti-piracy campaign. |

Schvoog- I couldn't find a price listed. It says, "The monthly subscription cost will be announced when the package is available to order."
And so you know, I'm completely in agreement with you about it being too much, if only because upgrading to digital cable would cost me $15 right off the bat! Still, I'm wondering if you know something I don't about the eventual subscription price.
(And yeah, we've been debating the merits of this decision for a week or two already, Cling.) |

| I wonder if his show will only be on demand? or something like real sex, where it is shown on HBO and repeated on Demand. The price is free as long as you pay for HBO. |

I don't think so... Plus, that's "HBO OnDemand," so basically it's HBO, except you gotta pay to watch shit at your convenience.
If Howard puts on a ton of other funny shit besides just recordings of his show I would probably subscribe to this. People pay for TV anyway, and I think it'd be better if we just got to choose the channels we pay for instead of paying for 80 channels of crap with only 5 or 6 that are actually worth watching.
And I've never used on demand... but isn't the difference between OnDemand and InDemand that OnDemand works more like a pay-service TiVO and InDemand gives you everything all year long and you just pay a subscription service? OR are they the exact same thing just with different names? |

| I thought they were the same. I have Adelphia and I pay for Showtime and HBO...As a result, HBO/SHOWTIME on demand is included. I can also rent movies on demand and keep them for about a week stored and watch them whenever. Each movie coast abou 5 bucks...Porn is about 12 Bucks. They do offer some free shows thoug...mostly cartoons. |

Okay, cool. But thinking about it now, it could easily clear $20 for me, because I don't have digital cable, and getting it would be $15 bucks before I pay ANYTHING for Howard's channel!
Bottom line, if he charges a cent over $5 for it, you'll have been right in thinking $20, at least in my situation.
Sure wish he would've gone with something that normal cable and satellite people could've participated in. |
