I just got a new job this week. It is in on office near a window. However, I get no reception at all at my desk. I work from 8am to 6pm
I want to get sirius but I saw you need an antenna. If I buy a sirius boombox or something, would it work in my office. Also if I do get it, I need to wear headphones. |

The antenna would need a clear view of the eastern sky to get reception. For ideal reception, the antenna would be placed outside, however adequate reception can probably be acheived with the antenna being placed on the window cill and pointed east. If you live in a big city, chances are that there are terrestrial repeaters in your area and in this case the antenna wouldnt need a clear view of the eastern sky.
If your antenna cable isn't long enough there is an extension cable here:

btw, the boombox does have a headphone imput. |

| I think I am going to have a similar problem. I am in a cubical in the middle of an office, no windows in the office either. I cant get a single station from a radio. I wouldnt be able to get a longer cord or anything. Am I just screwed? I would think my only option is the internet? |

the internet is probably your best bet if there are no nearby windows or if your city doesnt have any terrestrial repeaters.
If you live in a big city with a good repeater network then the antenna wouldnt need to be line-of-sight with the sky-your unit would just get signal from the terrestrial repeaters and you could just have a boombox or walkman device (which hopefully Sirius will unveil in a week's time) at your cubicle. |

| You'll all be ok. I remember when the cell phones only worked in a certain area. That's all changed. |

| I thought howard was not streaming on the internet at least not at first anyway. |

| I'm hoping Howard figures out something to allow his program to be streamed through sirius.com. They moved my cube to the middle of the office as well and now I can't get anything on my radio. I thought someone had brought up the fact that sirius.com does not broadcast any talk shows through their website although I'm not sure of the reason. |

| I tried doing XM's 3 day free trial of listening on the internet. I also cannot listen to ESPN 1050 radio's streaming as I like Stephen A Smith. However I did not hear anything. I am worried that it was a firewall issue and I would never be able to listen to Howard if he eventually streamed on the internet. |
