For some reason my unit gets hot real fast and if it is on too long it blows the lame 15 amp fuse....Sucks, I just went out and got 20 extra fuses waiting for Howard to come.
Anyone have this problem? How can I fix it? |

| What is the power source and what else do you have hooked up to that fuse? |

| It's got to be either a malfunctioning unit / car dock / adapter that is causing it to pull that many amps or you have too many things running off of that fuse. Most radios don't pull more than 3 or so amps under normal operating conditions. First, I'd check what else is running on that fuse. |

You either have too many electronic gadgets running off that fuse, or your Sirius receiver has gone bad and is drawing too much current. Even the S50 doesn't draw more than 1.5 Amps. So a healthy Sirius unit is not going to draw that much current. If you find that you don't have other electronic gadgets hooked up to that same fuse that could collectively draw more than 15amps(just add the current consumption for each gadget) than your Sirius unit has gone bad(which could explain why it's heating up). Also, make sure that your wires are connected properly, and that you don't have some short or shunt somewhere. Good luck. |
