Just a tip, the antenna that comes with the box doesn't work well outside much of the time, I used the antenna that came with it on my roof for about two weeks. When it is overcast or raining I could barely pick up a signal and it dropped quite a bit. This might be because I live in a very rural area.

My best advice is to grab the Terk SIR6 outdoor antenna. It is weatherproof and comes with all you need for mounting it. Since I installed mine I have had a solid signal with ZERO signal dropping. It takes about 15 minutes to install and it works fantastic.

You can get it cheap on Amazon.

Just ordered this a couple days ago. Has good reviews and people seem to be happy with it.

What's the best way to get the wire into the house? Window? I'd like to mount mine on an existing TV tower. Not sure I want to be drilling holes through the siding.

There is an outdoor antenna almost exactly like the SIR6. It will be out later in the week or maybe next week and it is only $40. Rather than $80.

Also if you have Satellite TV there is a product called the DBS Combiner/Splitter System where once you attach the Home Antenna to the Dish you can use the existing cable that is routed through your home to hookup your Sirius, then it splits the two separately. In other words no need to route cable through your whole place.

I guess it depends on where you live, I originally ran my wire through a window but it's been getting colder here in Ohio so I ended up running the wire under the siding and drilling a hole through the wall and using silicone caulk on the outside of the hole. If you can run your wire to a corner of your siding and gently pull off the corner piece and run it under the siding.

Not sure about cars, but SUV's are very easy.

I was able to route the wire out the very back door. Slightly removed that rubber molding to feed the antenna through and gently put the molding back on. It wont pinch the cable and when you close the back trunk door there is plenty of space and wont cut/scratch the cable.

My antenna is perfect, on the roof. Now the antenna is a magnetic puck and Im worried about the summer. It was up to 120 degrees in Vegas and I can see this antenna melting apart with all this heat.

Thanks for the tip Dscum, installed it today and have had perfect reception with no dropouts. i didnt mount on the roof though because alot of people i talked to said not to mount on the roof cause it will leak eventually, so i mounted just under the roof.

Glad to hear it worked out so well for you. Mine's actually mounted at the top corner of my house just below the roof as well.
