Well I finally get to post some pics of the sirius Starmate Replay I installed in my 04 Chevy silverado on Tuesday. It took literally 10 minutes to install and set up. The longest part of the set up was waiting on hold when I called Sirius to activate my account. This unit has an FM modulator so you dont have to run any wires to the cars radio. The only wires it has is the cigarette lighter power plug and the antenna which has a magnet on the underside of the antenna. It holds onto the roof with no problem.
The Starmate has the ability to rewind and pause up to 44 minutes of live radio. Its awsome when phone calls come in during my drive or if you need to listen to one of the bits you just heard again.

Thank you SO much for posting this. I'm trying to decide between getting that Starmate Replay or getting the Sportster Replay. I need to be able to take it from car to home and back again EVERYDAY. :D

Good threads on the radios. I'm still struggling with the equipment question. Honestly, XM has Sirius beat when it comes to great choices on hardware. I really love their portable. The Sirius S50 looks promising, although the fact that it doesn't receive a signal without being docked is almost a deal-killer for me. The cost begins to run upwards of $600 for me to get the package I really want when I combine the base S50 unit with all the extras I need to truly enjoy it.

I'm certain more units will come along in the next year or two, but I can't wait that long. Howard is coming SOON! So.....I'm left looking at more economical options to get my by until there's a more affordable portable device that receives the signal without being anchored to a dock. I hope someone in charge of hardware starts getting some new devices to market very soon. Consumers need better choices from Sirius so we can enjoy the excellent content anywhere with cool devices.

Are you referring to the S50?

I just bought this last Friday. Installation was a breeze. Took literally like 5 minutes to run the wire up through the trunk and under the front seats in my 2000 Corolla. I like the antennae too, kind of cool idea but I have a feeling some punk ass kid will rip it off or something.

No. There's a unit that docks into an "exoskeleton" that has the antenna attachement. I'll look for the bookmark.
