I don't have Sirius yet because I don't know what to buy...any helpful advice will be appreciated. I want something that I can take to work with me and listen to. I have heard about the Sportster and a boombox....do I just put the Sportster in the boombox and that's it? Does it get good strong reception? Does the boombox have a plug in for ear phones?

I have the Sportster Replay with the car kit and the boombox. The best thing about the Sportster is that it easily pops out from the car docking station and can go right to the boombox. No wires to unplug or anything.

My car reception is always strong from the satellite...there are no repeaters where I live. The antenna that comes with the boombox isn't long enough and because the satellites move, sometimes I have to move the antenna outside. I'm going to buy the TERK SIR6 Outdoor Home Antenna and mount it on my roof which should solve that. If you live in a major city with repeaters, the boombox antenna would probably work fine.

The boombox has a plug in for ear phones, which I use to hook it up to my sound card and record.

The sportster has a good built-in FM modulator which enables you to tune in whatever you have playing on any FM radio in your home or office.

I picked up the Sportster Replay ($99 after rebate) and home kit after work today. I'm listening to Howard 100 news as I type this. The window antenna didn't work as well as I hoped. It's up on the roof right now, but I need to reposition it. I may have to get a better antenna. Other than that, set up was really easy and activation look maybe 5 minutes online.

When in doubt, read the directions. Normally I would just edit the above post and correct the info. I glanced through the manual and adjusted the audio on the reciever and it sounds much better. Also, the sat. signal was at full. I'll get out and make the atenna mount a little more permanent this weekend.
