How well do the built in FM transmitters work in the Streamer GT and others?

It really depends how good that radio is and the signal strength I guess to say.

My Ford 2003 SUV has so-so/crappy FM quality, but I had rented a car last month -- PT Cruiser Turbo and it was beyond excellent quality

XACT Visor has one, if not THE best, FM transmitter. I love it. Works great and is ideal if you are in different vehicles all the time. Takes 2 seconds to install/uninstall ... no hardwiring necessary.

If you're in the same car all the time I believe if you hardwire it you will get the best quality possible, ie no transmitter.

I do have to say though, with my XACT visor, its no different from the clearest of FM stations.

It varies with the size of the city you're in and the strength of signals etc

Man am I glad to hear this, I just bought the XACT visor today at Best Buy for $50. I am going have it activated tomorrow.

I have the jockey for home use and it comes in loud and clear across the house on my home stereo.

I just got a Sportster Replay and did a home install and car install. I was listening to it in my house and ran to the store. My radio was still tuned to the station I set and I could get the signal 10 houses down the street. I was impressed.

Same result here. If its playing in my house I can drive down the block and still pick it up.
