All --

I have two Sirius units and wanted to share my opinions with those who are not sure what unit to buy. I originally purchased the XACT Stream Jockey II for my car and to be used at home

The unit has turned out to work fine at home, but in the car it was a nightmare. The power constantly comes loose causing the unit to power down and then power up while I tried to change channels in the car. Also, trying to change channels with the up and down buttons while driving is cumbersome. This unit works fine at home, but in the car I was very unhappy with it.

So, I ended up getting the Sportster Replay for my car and have been extrememly happy with it.

The ability to quickly change from channel to channel with a knob makes tuning it a lot faster and easier. I have noticed that it seems to be able to skip from channel to channel faster than the unit from XACT. The display is also very easy to read in the car.

Just a head's up for people looking to get their Sirius units in the next few weeks....

Avoid Xact products at all costs. Their stuff is complete crap like vegas booey said.

I'm using the JVC KT-SR2000 at the moment and I'm more than happy with it.

I got the cheapest plug/play Kenwood with the home adapter & it works fine

Clarion Calypso :

not cheaply made, looks cool
price wasnt too bad on ebay, 129$ with home kit + shipping.. the xact brand name i would never go near just because of instinct.

I got the Calypso...I'm happy with it...decent price at Crutchfield....checked out some of the other units...the Kenwood and Sporster ran too hot for my tastes....maybe something wrong with just those shelf models I don't know...didn't like Xact either...people bitch about the size of the remote on the Calypso but I find it easier to work because of the larger size...I like the look of the Clarion and its FM transmitter is pretty strong....to each his/her own

I just got the Sportster Replay two days ago and love it. After some annoying sound quality issues that I just fixed 5 minutes ago , the unit sounds great. (Hint: when using it at home, do not connect to an older rack stereo through the phono slot). Not sure if I'm going to put it in my car right away (short commute).

Also, if you're looking to get in soon, Radio Shack has $50 rebates on many of the units, including the one I got. You just have to activate the service before the end of the year.
