I was looking here at the clearance items

http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/ser...ldParentID=7873

and was considering the Audiovox PNP2 boombox for $70 and the auto docking station for $20. Is that a fair deal? Are there smaller docking stations available - that one looks so bulky and permanent?! Does the dock itself screw into your dashboard or something? :(

I personally like the Sportster radio package, but I would be getting this as a gift and Im trying to save the person a few bucks.

Also, I am in the market for a new car CD player too. Should I be looking for one that is "Sirius ready" or does that even matter? What's the deal with 'satellite ready' units anyways?

Thanks!

I have 4 Sirius units. Price wise it's a good deal but it is 2nd generation equiptment. The new equiptment is much better and smaller. The audiovox pnp2 is a little big and bulky but I love the big screen, it makes it very easy to read while driving.
The Audiovox has a docking kit that it plugs into for your car or home. As far as where you put in your car is up to you. You will just have to find someplace that fits. I had mine attached to the center console of my Infinity.
Sirius ready means all you have to do is add a box that goes in your trunk or under the seat and an antenna and you are good to go. The in dash unit itself has all the read out and line display information. Adding the box ad antenna makes it active.
Overall besides it being big the audiovox 2 is agood unit, just large. They now have 50 dollar receivers from xact and direct electronics that are much smaller and cheaper that fit on your visor.. hope this helps
