| Does anyone know if and when Howard's InDemand is going to start and whether or not you can get it on Cablevision??? |

| You can get it with cable if you server provides it. You have to order it which means you need a cable box thingy. So basic cable won't be able to get it. |

From the InDemand website:
"Currently, only cable offers the kind of Video On Demand technology needed to deliver Howard Stern On Demand."

If you sign up on their site they will send you an email in the coming weeks to let you know if and when your cable provider will carry it. I would imagine they're also using these sign ups to demonstrate to cable providers the demand for the channel. I signed up and they sent me a preview of the channel - never before seen footage from the E! show (Jenna Jameson). Pretty cool but it was still scrambled.
edit: Yay! I'm a full member! :) |

Same here. Comca$t is so bad I would not have their equipment in my house if they gave it to me. I hope a deal is stuck so we can get it on satellite. |

I'm crossing my fingers too (i have DirecTV)
The soonest it'd be available on SatTV would be 3 years (when the InDemand Networks contract expires). I'm sure that InDemand put a clause in the contract so the footage can't be used on Satellite TV because InDemand is owned by 3 major cable companys: Comcast, Timewarner Cable and Cox.
Who knows? If worse comes to worse, I might just subscribe to Charter's (my local cable company) lowest tier package+Digital Box+Howard Stern On Demand in addition to DirecTV... |

just curious, if you had the indemand, would you guys be ordering all these home movies they are planning on airing? or the ones the staff are making?
personally, I think howard is getting a little too full of himself expecting his fans to pay for anything that involves his life cause I could not conceive of paying money to watch his student film... but I imagine if you're a big fan of his, might be an interesting thing..
also, indemand is like ppv, correct? you have to pay for each program? you don't just pay 10 bucks for the month and get the channel, correct? |

Wrong. The monthly subscription will be available for a great introductory price of $9.99 (SRP*). *Introductory price is available from 11/18/05 - 3/31/06. Monthly subscription price will be $13.99 beginning 4/1/06. Price and availability date may vary locally. |

Since it's a flat monthly fee, the home movies and stuff add some variety to the library, kind of like bonus features on a DVD. I'll check some out for curiousity's sake and you can always zap through them.
Seeing the naked whores unblurred will be all well and good, but I'm glad that they're also playing up the aspect of behind the scenes footage like the activity in the hallways and offices. That could only get limited play on a 22 minute E! show, but now they can make episodes of whatever length the material merits or even stick a feature of just that stuff.
The good thing about On Demand is that they can put a variety of stuff up there and you can pick and choose what you want to check out. It's not like you have to watch every single show they add in order to get $10-14 of entertainment in a month. |

good to hear... as a monthly subscription, then things like home movies and such are a good idea... hadn't heard him discuss the pricing of the channel and it was more sounding like if you saw a program they were offering that you liked, you'd have to pay separately for it... his own station with a monthly fee though really opens up the possibilities... wonder if he will have the H100 news on indemand...
thanks |

Didn't I read that Sirius shows will start showing up in April?
That would make sense really. Build up a nice new library of new stuff then jsut over load us with it. |

| I hope they will all be available as torrent files. I called my cable carrier here in CA and they said they are not going to carry Howard on-demand, it will prodomintely be featured on the east coast. |

I am, unfortunately, not subscribing to Howard OD. I'm not paying $9.99 a month PLUS $12.95 for Sirius. If they'd knock the price down, I'd consider it. |

You get Howard InDemand inside of OnDemand. Very confusing. |
