What name should we give the concept of broadcasting Howards show (or Sirius in general) over FM, and it being picked up by other cars, say on the traffic jam to work?
I was envisioning people with something showing on the outside of their cars like "Howard 100 on 90.5 FM" Think this will ever come to pass? Just a thought. |

It's an interesting idea.
Also think if there are people with sirius driving close together with the fm transmitter all set to the same frequency, but they are listening to different stations.
I wouldn't want someone taligtaing me though just to hear free sirius. |

| Has anyone tested the range of the FM transmitter on their Sirius tuner? I would be curious to know if some models are stronger than others. |

| The maximum range for most FM transmitters is about only 15 to 20 feet. |

Nah it has to be more than that no?
Probably more like 100 feet.
I've heard of people using one sirius tuner and broadcasting it throughout their house. |

| Tried it out this weekend with my friend. It actually works up to one car length but then gets extremely choppy. So if you plan on broadcasting to people within a 100 foot radius forget about it, probably a 25-30 foot radius at best. |

| I already do this in my college parking lot. I keep my radio suction cupped to my sun roof to get a little more distance. It's workedat least 4 cars away for me. |

My receiver is in my family room in the back of the house, and from the front out in the street I was able to get the signal decent enough for both my neighbors to get it nicely. As I went further than their outer property lines on each side it began to fade but it was clear in my FM radio in the car till then. I'm using the Sportster Replay. I'd say in the car that the signal would be very easy to hear at minimum 4-5 cars away in a traffic jam.
