During the time Arte was missing from the show (during Beer League), Howard talked to Robin about how great the Sirius gig was going to be. He told Robin that Arte shouldn't blow it, because Arte would only have to come in 4 days a week for the Sirius show.

I have this on tape. I emailed the show twice, but never got a response. Does anyone know whether the Sirius show will be live 4 days or 5 days a week?

Howard has a Sirius show?

And who is Arte?

4 days a week (fridays off) and tons of vacation, that's the only bad thing about the Sirius show. Howard said that he'll make up for it with "something special" on Fridays.

the 4sirius forum is full of information on this. you should check there and get up to date

yes the stern show as we know it will be live 4 days a week. there will be a multitute of live spin off shows which will fill all of the remaining airtime. there are currently 2 channels which will be 24/7 stern crap.

4 days a week will be a good thing. It'll give the crew time to rest and be more creative. Hopefully the "off" day can be a recap/BOS and/or showcase some of the whack pack's bits...

At first when I heard the 4 day a week thing, I was like wow, how fucking lazy. But after hearing about all the other shows they are producing (Fartman, Lost on Whore Island, ect.) it's probably for the best so they actually have time to make all these spin-off shows.

Thanks for confirming this. The tape of the show that I have only mentions Arte's schedule. Stern never actually talks about the schedule of the show itself.

How long before there's the same amount of commercials per hour as now??

I say within the first year.

I don't see what you mean by that? Sirius won't be hurting for money. Do you mean the lack of programming will cause them to up the commercials? I doubt that. They can just do what Raw Dog does, put in filler stand up comedy.

It doesn't matter if they're hurting for money big companies are greedy.

There shouldn't be commercials on satellite like HBO.

His "schedule" obvoiusly isn't a pro, just like the On-Demand monthly price, which is why he'll never bring it up.

Jim Breuer does 4 days a week and it's still great, so maybe it'll turn out to be a good thing

Sirius isn't new. They have been around for a few years. If you listen to Raw Dog, the commercials are basically non existent. With a regular of one to two commercials (Not including music, which is commercial free) it isn’t a problem. They just need a break in the programming, so instead of playing music, why not make money off it? It’s a business.

Sirius will never put large amounts of commercials on. They are competing with XM, you know.

Howard will get them a large amount of sales, but they do have to appeal to the people who aren’t Howard Stern fans too. Convincing people to pay money for something they get free isn’t an easy task.

Sirius makes most of the money off of subscriptions, so there wont be that many commercials.

Thanks, Mutt. I just looked through that forum now and the question was first answered last December. Sorry for asking the question again. As far as I'm concerned, this thread should be moved to that forum.

I listen to the whole show every day. Stern talks a LOT about his Sirius programming, but he almost never mentions the 4-day work week. I can understand why.

I hope your right, but $$$$ talks.

So does millions of subscribers leaving to go to the competition. This, I think, is more important to the company then the money. Because that’s where that money comes from. Don’t worry, nothing like that will ever happen.
Modane
it's not like he won't be a busy fuck on Fridays with 3 channels to produce and an OnDemand channel.
ChronoSkooma17

Why do you think the commercial spots are going to be so expensive on Howard's Sirius show? Because only a few will pay it, which equals less commercials which equals more attention being placed on the commercial.
Sibby
If the show is on 4 days a week live I would not have a problem with that or the extra weeks of vacation . Anyone one who has done as much as him that stay with a company will earn perks like that . He has earned it with his years and his talent . Vacation weeks add up over the years . Like a few of you above have mentioned it's not like Friday will be a day off for him . This fucker has been working 24/7 on this sirius universe and just because the show is not live on fri doesn't mean he won't be entertaining you .
