I'd like to hear what Alison is up to in her own words. I used to like when she called in.
What does everyone else think? |

Alison stopped calling in in 1999, as they finalized the terms of their separation.
It was probably a relief for her not to be a subject of the Stern show and subjected to its craziness anymore.
It also appears that there was a mutual gag order in effect so that Howard hasn't spoken much about her except with a comment when they'd see each other at family functions before the divorce was final and then an acknowledgment that she'd remarried around Thanksgiving 2001. As Howard is fond of saying regarding the personal lives of people no longer affiliated with the show, "that's so-and-so's story to tell."
Alison's moved on and is firmly back in the private sector, in hopefully a happy and secure marriage. She and Howard were examples of how grown ups should act to protect their kids in the process of divorce and how to act with grace and dignity. They respected their privacy and thereby forced others to do so.
What's in it for Alison to be interviewed? |

| I don't think she necessarily needs to be interviewed (or would agree to it) but it would be nice to hear her on the show again. Maybe just to wish Howard good luck on his new venture and to find out if she still listens, what she thinks of Artie, does she still speak to the other wives... things of that nature. |

| Speaking for all men with ex-wives...good riddance. They have chosen to live in separate worlds & both should do so except where a mutual concern for the children is involved. Enough is enough. |

If she has something to plug, like a charity for mentally handicapped people or an event to raise money for them. |

Good point, but in the incredibly unlikely event that Howard were to want Alison to submit to an interview, I just don't think he's the kind of guy who'd use plugs to coerce her to make it happen. Howard seems more like the kind of guy that, if Alison had a worthy charity to promote and he thought it was worthy, he'd promote it without strings -- and without disclosing any involvement by Alison.
But, maybe I'm just in a sentimental, rosey mood. |

I agree with everything you said except I feel she should have atleast been included in the last day speech schedule. I mean she was a huge part of his road to number one and was the source of endless material for him on the air. It would have been nice just to hear her there with the kids to wish Howard luck. |

| As curious as I might be to hear from Allison again, I think it would be best to respect her privacy. Since Howard does not speak about her very much, I am sure it is per her request and she is shunning the spotlight. |

Howard is on good terms with her so I think he would be OK with it. Even if she had something to plug it would not be worthwhile hearing since it would be too sugar coated and the tough questions are not getting thru, if Howard's parents first interview is any indication. It would be a wasted opportunity, Allison would be a total bore unless she gets into the nitty gritty which she wouldn't, so then we are back at another Double A style ass kiss fest which is a bore.
The man that needs to be given a no holds barred interview (totally open phone lines and no "white breading" it down by screening the calls) and who will deliver is Jackie. I know he spoke to Bubba but his December 15th honesty left me wanting to hear more, jackie as the balls not to sidestep questions and he can laugh at himself.
I have not hooked up my Sirius yet but the roundtable better include some callers cursing out Ralph and not soft balls lodged all hour. |
