As with any Sirius radio.
This seems like a great radio, though, esp since it comes with car AND home kit. I'm looking to get it. |

I have that one. It has no remote which annoys me since I use it as a home unit (I have a car in dash radio WITH A REMOTE, But that's beside the point).
The unit works fine. Easy set up. Nice screen. I use the FM modulator to listen to Sirius on radios all over the house and on my walkman out in the yard.
I did invest in a out door antenna because I had trouble with reception. From what I've read this is not a fault of the radio. I would have had to get the out doot antenna no matter what radio I got.
I did set it up in the car once just to see it worked. The reception was perfect in the driveway.
Other then the remote thing, I would recommend it. |

| After a couple of weeks of researching and asking tons of questions (just ask boombox LOL) and actually talking to someone who has had the Sanyo for almost a year with no problems I bought it today thru the SFN link to Sirius.com. With the 10% off I got a package deal that included the car kit, home kit AND boombox with a $50 rebate for a total of $66.00!! Here is the link if you're interested... It's on page 2 of the packages... http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/ser...=7879&scId=7879 |

Holy crap! You got the whole thing for less then the cost of the boombox!
I still haven't seen the boombox in the store. |

I'm going with this package! It may not be the most flashy of the bunch, but you get everything you need including car kit, home kit, and boombox for under $100! Not to mention that ya know in due time they will be offering much better hardware, so why waste a few hundred now?!
Btw: I'll be sure to use the SFN link to help support the board! ;) |

Thanks for the advice, I just ordered this deal, with a $50.00 subscription card and used the promo code (then we deduct the rebate and free shipping) for a grand total of $108.00 |

I have a sorta goofy question but I don't wanna get stuck on Christmas morning...
My mother in law has Sanyo CRSR-10 wrapped already and doesn't want to unwrap it to check for me  so.... does anyone know what kind of batteries I'll need for the unit and boombox?
Thanks in advance.
18 more days til Howard goes Sirius! |

The Sanyo CRSR-10 itself uses a power supply, no batteries. The boombox for it uses either an AC adapter or 8-D batteries. |

| This is the one I have and I am very happy with it, I do wish it had a remote but with the rebate and the SFN promo code discount it wound up costing me $36, a very small price for all of the hours and hours of enjoyment I'm getting out of it plus when I ordered, it was here in 2 days UPS, I say go for it if you're on a budget and can live without all the deluxe features that are on the more costly models:btu: |

I have been using my sanyo for a week ans it has the features I wanted and I am completely satisfied:
What I was looking for:
1) Durability. Lifetime subscriptions require a durable Sirius Reciever ir a cheap one to easily replace. Sanyo CRS10 is durable (more so when used on the boom box at home) and cheap.
2) No Remote. Over a lifetime I 100 percent guarentee I will lose or break the remote. All features are available unlike on a remote.
3) Miniport output. I plug my Sanyo interchangeably into: headphones, my stereo system, the Sanyo Boom Box, my laptop, and my MP3 player can play on the boom box.
4) Comprehensive package. My package included (for 57 dollars) the Sanyo Reciever, Home cradle, car cradle, home and car antenna, boombox with handle (some -irius boomboxes have no handle), and a Sirius Hat.
5) Sirius service. When purchasing I prefered to buy direct from Sirius.com. Then, I can get customer service and my subscription from one source. |

I just ordered it earlier this morning. Total came to $119.99 w/ add. $4.61 for shipping, $7.20 tax less $16.61 discount for the SFN promo code. Grand total: $115.19 (BEFORE REBATE/S)
With the 1 $50.00 rebate, the final price would be around $65.00 for everything. Now, I'm wondering (since I got the package deal), whether or not I am going to get more than $50.00 off? You see, I figure they will give me $50.00 off for the receiver itself, maybe they will also give me something off for the boombox too? :dontknow: Different serial#'s on each one, riiiiiiighhhhhhhhhht? Hmmm. |

It's very easy to get it going. You just need to find a good place for your antenna so you can get a good satellite signal. That will be your biggest challenge. The rest is easy, just read the manual and follow the directions. |

Well in your car the best place is outside on the roof. At your house or office the antenna needs to face the North Central U.S. skies, above South Dakota. That's where the strongest signal is cause the satellites converge at that point in their orbit. Whatever you do, you need a clear unobstructed view of the north central skies for the best signal. Good luck. |

Look, you get what you pay for. There's no such thing as a free lunch. If you want a unit with all of the bells and whistles, you will have to shell out more money. If you want to get Sirius and save your bucks for the subscription, this is the one for you. |

I purchased the Sanyo a couple of weeks ago and have only been able to get a signal 3 times since then (usually only after 20-30 minutes of waiting.)
I have a convertible (soft top) so I had to mount the antenna on the trunk - which is what they recommended.
Called Sirius support and they said call Sanyo Support. Sanyo is closed for Christmas so I have to wait.
Who knows if it's an issue with the receiver and antenna or the signal just sucks. We'll see.
I've got to get this thing to work by Jan 9th! |

Awesome! Thanks for the response & good word on it, Woots.
I've yet to receive mine, but I am sure it will be here within a few days. I am very anxious to get it installed and to subscribe.
Question, was it hard for you to install your car kit? My little brother offered to install my Sirius for me. However, he has something different in his car. I have a Ford Explorer w/4 doors. Is that going to be more difficult to install in an SUV? Let me know how you made out, Woots. Thanks! |

Easy as pie to put in your car, it has a suction cup mount that you put on the window, it has a power cable to plug into your ciggy lighter, the antena is magnetic so it sticks to the roof of your car, it is completly portable so you can take all this stuff down and put it back up in a matter of minutes, piece of cake- a total no brainer- I LOVE IT! :)
ps....I didn't get the boombox but I have all the other stuff though. |

I have the "package" and so far everything is working fine. I put the boombox in my bedroom and the signal is great! I was outside yesterday with a headset on, had it tuned to an FM channel and was listening to Sirius just as if I was sitting in the house. I can't wait to try it in the car. January 9th can't get here soon enough for me :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! |

shipping isnt free if you use the 10 percent code since you cant have two discounts. but you save more money with the 10 percent anyway. |

There was a promo at the beginning of December for free shipping on orders over $24.99. I picked mine up then with the 10% plus $50.

Going to try mine in the car today, I haven't been out of the house since getting it... 3 days and I'm addicted to Sirius already. |
