there is one Xact that has horrible reviews on amazon.com that almost every reviewer has had problems with. I dont know that is the same one you are talking about...

| That one is a regular plug and play, but they sell a'pod'? for it to make it portable. I'm pretty sure it's big though, something you'd want to keep in a back pack or somethin, to big for a pocket. |

I have the XACT XTR1 Stream Jockey with a Power Pod. Given that there's no other true portable available, I think the Power Pod is fine. It's about the size of a good-sized potato or a French roll. Too big for a shirt pocket, but not too big to hold in your hand.
I have used it on the dashboard of my car (instead of using the option of plugging the radio into the cigarette lighter) with good results. It transmits well to the FM radio.
I have used it walking around and on the light rail train I take to work. This is why I needed a Power Pod and it works great on the train. No interference from the overhead wires of the train.
Finally, I can bring it to my office, put it on top of an FM radio by the window, and it's incredible. It picks up a powerful ground signal that's forwarded from the satellite.
So I'd have to say, given the alternatives (recording the show and listening to it at night or the next day), I'd say the Power Pod is fine. Sure I'd like a smaller unit. I'm used to a hanging a very tiny Sony Walkman around my neck. But I'm happy that I won't have to miss Howard on my morning commute. |

| Do your research first. I've posted against this unit many a times so I get drained. But you should know there are a TON of double standards in it. Tell me one good feature about it and I'll knock it down with it's fault. It'd be good for maybe a $100, though... |
