Well, I signed up for sirius 1 year ago (with a 1 year subscription). I've enjoyed it. I figured they'd shoot me an e-mail when time to renew (i planned on going month for month), instead they just took out 139.00 on the card I used last year. I have enough money to cover it, but I thought I would warn others they will do this shit. No e-mail, no confirmation e-mail, nothing. I know I did not authorize this when I signed up, because there is noway I would've..i like to keep track of my money. Has this happened to anyone else?

Most companies do this now. This happened to me a couple of years ago with a porn age veification site. I was pissed.

I actually had a 6 month subscription and got no notice when it ended and no bill. So I received the last 6 months free. Just got a notice to renew and did so.

it is probably ongoing til you change it yourself.

Why wouldn't you go for the lifetime memship?? After 3 1/2 years i'm listening for free!!!

That Happened to me also, but I expected it, it is a subscription service, I think it better that they charge automatically, knowing me I would forget about it otherwise.

Most subscription services now-days auto-bill you, without confirmation. Sirius does in fact do that, and they tell you that if you sign up via the phone.

I found out that you can change receivers 3 times. So with the 2 year parts and service I should be good for at least 4 to 6 years.. Did you hear something different? I would appreciate any input. Thanks

Look in the FAQs:

8. Do I have to call every month and renew my subscription?
No, your monthly subscription is renewed automatically and billed to your credit card on record. If you wish to modify your subscription type or cancel, contact our Customer Care center at 1.888.539.SIRIUS (7474).

After completion of the initial subscription period, service will renew automatically for additional periods of the same length on SIRIUSą standard Terms & Conditions.

Same thing here. I thought they would at least send an email. I was planning in renewing anyways but what if I wasnt? Am I tied into another year subscription?
larrylobester
I'm with you. I noticed it renewed only because it showed up on my bill. Even if they are going to do the autobill, maybe they could drop a line after the fact (they wouldn't want to do it before hand because you may say no!) so that you know to look. Otherwise, I would think they would run the risk of people disputing the charge simply because they didn't know what it was for.
